    GL Tow Bar Luck

Nicely done! I was going to bid on that when I saw it was only $220, but figured someone would surely drive up the price higher. I'm glad I you got it cheap and I didn't bid against you! What do you power the light sets with?

    M819/M246 Ops Questions

I've got an M819 and haven't seen this air switch. If installed, where would it be? Is this MWO common to all of the M809 series?

finally got the new rubber on

I actually talked with M.Walker last night on the phone and he has been having some computer problems, that is why he is MIA. He said the 16.00s just caused his trailer to slope too much and wanted to add larger tires to the trailer to compensate for the increased height of the 5th wheel. His...

finally got the new rubber on

Although I haven't made the swap just yet, I think the 395/85R20 would be a good looking tire for my multifuel tractor (M52A2). I feel any cummins truck should get the 14.00s or bigger and I prefer the 16.00s on a long wheel base truck. M.Walker put 16.00s on his tractor last year and has some...

395/85R20 is 46-47". Effectively the same size as 15.5/80R20.

finally got the new rubber on

A good rule of thumb is take the size x 2 then add 20" for the wheel.

finally got the new rubber on

1100s are about 42", 1200s are about 44", 1400s are about 49", and 1600s are about 52" Actual diameter could vary 2" or more, depending on tread.

    M819/M246 Ops Questions

The amber light in the front is specific to wreckers and is used to designate a vehicle in tow. From page 2-15 of the -10. "Signal light switch controls operation of amber warning light on left front fender when wrecker crane is operating or disabled vehicle is being towed."

    M819/M246 Ops Questions

That is a great looking truck! I love the crane cab and the way the M819 makes the M35 look small in the second pic. M819s are beasts!

    route clearing trucks

Great pictures! It is good to see that our forces do have some of the right equipment needed for the mission. We probably need 20,000 more! Stay safe and keep those pics rolling in. We love to see them.

    M819/M246 Ops Questions

RE: Re: M819/M246 Ops Questions Good luck bringing the M819 home. Sometimes, there is just no substitute for a wrecker. The M246/M819 seems to be a lot more versatile than the M816, but they are tough to find. If you got a good one that just needs paint, congratulations! Hey BFR, is that...

Is the bolt pattern on a military pintle the same as a civi?

RE: Is the bolt pattern on a military pintle the same as a c I purchased one of the adjustable mounting plates and fixed pintles from a fellow SS member and used it today for towing a M101A2. It worked great. How aggressive do you plan to be off road? I think you have to do some serious...

Can someone give me more info on what HMMWV are like to own?

Or, if you want an offroad capable vehicle, get a M1008, and add HMMWV wheels, tires, and an ARB locker up front in the Dana 60. Tough to beat that combination for about a $5000 investment.
