Couple update pictures on my 1028 frame. Might one of a few power coated silver frames, lol. I want a stock military cucv truck so bad, I just missed out on another one yesterday. If anyone from Michigan knows of one for sale, please let me know, looking for near or rust free one.
I've done it with the door on but not fun. If you outline the door first as mentioned, I usually just use masking tape, take the door off and you can see on the bottom of the pin a spot that is crushed to keep it from poping back out. Hit it with a grinding disk if you have one to remove the...
The part you are refering to that jumps between the power rails on the pass side firewall is not needed. It was to eliminate radio noise. I suspect someone has mixed up some wires in the past with the alternators, it's the first thing to burn up as well as fusable links.

I wish I were building it back to the 1028 but this is a truck I bought to part out. It just had too much missing to make it worth my while to rebuild it. I'm using the frame and axles for my toy truck I use at the sand dunes. Going to powdercoat the frame silver like my current one and swap...
I have a set, I was real carefull to save them in perfect condition. If you want to work somehting out with shipping send me a pm. Otherwise I would recomend bending your own. I also like to add, Autozone sells a nice line with a coating on it that prevents rust that is made in Muskegon...
I used the rear over the axle section of another frame to extend the front. I used fishplates cut to diamond shape ends on the outside and inside of the frame as well as plates on top and below the frame. The joint is stronger than the frame ever could be. This trailer was my camper. I have...
