    My New toy

The roof is actually the hardtop to a GMC CCKW from WWII...it seems the Military adapted many of these to fit due to the shortage of actual hardtops manufactured for these things. I actually am trying to get the same thing done to my tank as you did! Tank is nice and solid, definitely worth...

    My New toy

Finished stripping the paint off the back of the cab today...found a HUGE bondo coverup on the driver's side. Someone cut out the rot, welded in new pieces, and used body filler to cover them...did a NICE job, but unfortunately I found this too late to save it. Got the back all primed up with...

    My New toy

Started the body work on the cab today, and dropped the gas tank to be reconditioned...decided against using the blazer tank so that I will still be able to use the access to the sending unit through the bed! Got the hood taken off, and my buddy began the body work on that for me...the hood...

    Civilian Plug Wires?

What did you end up with for plug wires? I tried to get a new set of civilian ones from the local auto parts store (my buddy's parents own it). The parts I was sold are the EXACT perfect match, except they are way too short.

    My New toy

Finally after a few months of nothing, got to tear some stuff off the M37 today. Took off the old fenders, put one new one on temporarily. Passenger side had a hole drilled for the heater box which I didn't even think about, so I'll have to get some big bits and drill that out to install it...

    M37 Soft top and bows

Would anybody be able to post pictures of the soft top; bows, pillars, etc on their M37? I've got all the peices (I think) and I need to see some pictures to confirm and see how it all goes together! Thanks guys, appreciate any responses!

    Brake drum removal, m37

My mistake! Yea those are a major PITA...I've done that job 3 times myself, only my M37 gave me a really hard time as yours is...it took several hours of drilling, and breaking 3 cheap Chinese easy-outs, but I got it Keep plugging, good luck!

We have a 5-ton tractor in our FEPP lot at work, the spare tire is on the passenger side, the storage box is on the drivers side.

    Brake drum removal, m37

Also as a side note, at work I replaced rear oil seals that were blown out on one of our WM300s....the studs were so coated and saturated in oil from the bad seals, that they came out with just my fingers

    Brake drum removal, m37

We're talking about the front hub here correct? I assume you are removing the studs from the hub so that you can install lock out hub flanges? If this is the case, the way which I took the studs out (I have done this 2 times) was to put two nuts on the studs, and tighten them against each...

    My New toy

I've been working on it after work the last couple week...finally have REALLY GOOD brakes. I mean, enough to put me through the dash :) I traded the old junk engine block (after stripping everything off it that was good) to a local guy who scraps a lot...in return he gave me a good condition...

    Fire Truck

My guess is your deuce isnt stretched, probably was a bridge truck (guess). Those were used to carry pontoons, usually have singles in the rear. I work for our state's forestry department and we have gotten some of these through. Our district's lowboy actually is pulled by this same tractor...

    pumping lake water

On our department (and many others around here) when we draft, we ALWAYS put the strainer into a pail. The strainer prevents rocks and fish from getting sucked in, and the pail tied on the end prevents the muck from the bottom....and we draft outta some nasty places! I'd recommend doing this...

    My New toy

You're right, I can't! :) Gave it a drive around the yard today, got it into second gear for the first time ever, that was nice! Today after work, my buddy Dan and I put new spark plugs in the truck, and gapped them to .035. Also, new distributor cap, rotor, and condenser and points. Truck...
