Thanks, I really like it too, it almost looks like it came that way. The bumper is mounted to the brackets, the winch to the bumper, we used grade 8 hardware. the mounting could be improved on a bit IMO. In one of the pics you can see our direct to metal epoxy primer, its really tough stuff. the...
Here our some pictures of how we installed a winch on a cucv, as you can see we modify the existing brush gaurd and bolt it to the new bumper for a "semi" military look. the bumpers are available on ebay and are nicely made. We primed and painted the bumper assembly with black CARC and added...
3k is a bit heavy for the M1009, IMO, plus its a short wheel base vehicle, stability at that speed may be a concern. the m1009 will have new tires,,right? have him buy you the truck and just follow him to the lake:beer:
That part is for the glow plugs, it is commonly used as a "starter" solenoid, but is your applicattion is a "glowplug" solenoid. all the tms are in the referance sections and i highly recomend your print out the schmatics and keep them with the truck for referance.
Thanks
Terry
Yea, its a weird rule, i guess the old guys have had problems so they instituted the rule to weed out the undesirables, it seems that a different policy should exist for "wanted items" I am looking for stuff myself.
2centsOn the old mustangs we spray air and brake cleaner through them. BUT on these trucks I think it migh be best to just remake them, pinhole leaks can cause all kinds of problems, and the trucks are so big the lines are easy to make. Rust in the lines is from water in the fuel.
I would use carb soaking solution, then set a brass tumbler as used in reloading placed on the tank to "stimulate" the cleaning solution, i learned this trick from watching my ultrasonic cleaner work. hope that helps some.
I have installed several a/c setups on cucv, dont forget to tint the windows and install some insulation, the a/c just cant keep up with the heatload.2cents
The first thing is to really pressure wash the surface with preferable very hot water and a strong soap solution and rinse completely, then sand the loose and flaking stuff off with some 180 grit paper. the remaining finnish "if" its stable can just be resprayed directly with more CARC. The low...
Wire size and continue repairs
.023 its whats on this welder, some of the others in the shop have .030, mild steel wire, we have good luck with both setups, I am not sure if I have a preferance or not.
The bigger patch requires a channel to hold the weatherstrip and floor drainage/wire...
Welder
We used a milermatic 180 wire feed mig welder, we use a argon c02 mix, this repair could be done with a 110v gasless welder though. in these pictures we have the rocker top fixed and now we will move onto the floor section repair.
