Jeff, isn't gimp's IH wrecker at your place?

    steering bump ?

Don't think I took any pics of the carnage inside. Mine was a broken roller. It would lock up when turned one direction, and when freed up it had a LOT of play in the steering. As in unsafe to drive. I'd also check the steering box for a bent shaft, mine was tweaked some and caused a little...

    Wrecker

That will be a neat looking truck when your done.

    Wrecker

Looks like a M62 crane. If so, it should have the rear winch.

    Really tight steering

Turn full right, disconnect the drag link, and you should be able to tell if it is the steering box.

    Wrecker

If it's the smaller austin crane, the M108, I'd be interested in 2 outriggers.

have great facility to sell surpluss and modify trucks for rent

I already have 10,000 sq ft of buildings to take care of. I don't need it, but someone here might.

    Pinion seal removal

LOL.. that's one way to get it loose. Just make sure your going the right direction!

    Exhaust note changed?

I was thinking about it after we talked the other day. I'd go with Will on this one, thinking it is something whistling in the intake or exhaust. Maybe something loose or maybe even something stuck in the intake filter housing? Wouldn't hurt to pull the intake off the turbo and check for play...

    2011 Haspin BS/T-shirt thread.

Dates sound find to me. May have to move them back a week in 2012 to avoid the school year.

Steepest Grade You've Navigated in 5-Ton

Believe most military trucks are rated at 60%. I've had the jeep on steeper hills than what a deuce will handle.

LDS VS LDT and the real differences

I've noticed Gimp's LDS in the wrecker had a different sound, would guess because of cam differences. Then again, his LDS dropside sounds pretty close to a standard D LDT.

    Ohio Military Vehicle Show Aug. 20 & 21, 2010

I'll probably stop in saturday for a while.

    driving with one rear axle

I would recommend trailering that one. You would have to chain up the spring on the broken side, chain the other half of the axle up, remove the outer broken part, plug the brake line, and remove the rear driveshaft. And the chain between the axle and frame would have to be done right, if it...

    driving with one rear axle

What is broke on the axle? If tires can roll, pull axle shafts and rear drive shaft. You can't remove the axle, it is hooked to the other axle and shares the suspension. Other option is to chain it up to the frame.

    The LDT-465 that ran backwards

Multifuel IP's are piston pump, not vane pump. IP doesn't care which way it turns, it will pump fuel.

    M108 data plate ?

Dang, where is the howitzer feature on my M108? I wanna shoot something! I will have to look after work, but I think the only plate different from a standard gasser is the wieght/serial number plate.

    Finally worked on the M59

Geez, you tell us all that, and that it's six colors, and no pics? Where's that ban button.... Sounds like it will be a changed truck, and that the blue M59 parts are going to a good home.
