You're referring to the "moustache" shaped spring, right? Try Antelope Valley Equipment. I've gotten more than one from them.

Steve,
That ring is part of a sling system. There is a large bar that goes through that ring (the end points upward with a closed ring at the end), down between the axles on top of the spring mounts and attaches to that bracket looking thing on top of the suspension... I'm looking for a...
Thanks for the suggestions David, and thanks for your service.
I was looking at those hinge bolts and wondering if it were possible to access them. Maybe this is a good time to justfy the purchase of that flex head gearwrench set I've been wanting :D
Good luck with your door adjustment, and I...
Well, to be honest, I haven't gotten far enough into the process to check the hinge play. My friend recently pointed out that both my doors dont exactly match the camo pattern, so he thinks they were swapped out at some point and just slapped in there without much regard for alignment.
I'll...
Hi All,
I make no claims whatsoever about having any ability or experience in regard to autobody repair, so apologies up front for this one... BUT.....
Both doors on my 1009 are badly out of adjustment. Not so much in and out, but rather front to back. Both rub on the fenders when opening...
To the best of my ability, I couldn't find one at LMC. I believe it's called a "shifter console" or some such thing. I know exactly what you're talking about. Mine was busted up too. I wound up finding one in good shape at a salvage yard for like 10 bucks. After a good cleaning it looked...
Aw... come on Gary. I had those dates posted on our web site all year! ( http://www.mvccnews.net/events.htm ) Ya gotta look at the web site once in a while. It sure was a nice event.
But stay tuned because I'm working on the event page for next year and you'll want to get your calendar...
I don't know if they're in Southern CA too. I didn't even know about them at all until a fellow club member asked me if I wanted to participate. Maybe send them an e-mail and ask.
Hey Redwolf,
In addition to the 2 bolts you already found, there's another attach point towards the front of the truck. It's a small bracket that bolts to the end of the starter at the top and attaches to the block. This bracket is very important, so if it's missing, get one on there without...
Just a couple pics of my M1009 on display at Troopfest last weekend. It was held at the former Alameda Naval Air Station aboard the USS Hornet aircraft carrier turned floating museum. Lots of bands, food, even some "wrass-lin" for the WWE fans and everything was done to support the troops...
If anyone is interested, I went down to my local Chebby Dealer and got that water jacket block off plate that is threaded for the sender.
The P/N is: 14028949 and GM refers to it as a "Water Jacket Cover"
Also, the gasket is P/N 10137488

Why not just take the 3 color pattern from the TM and change the base color green to sand, and maybe modify the brown to the color of your choice? That might look pretty good, and you know the pattern would be milspec :D
Sure, the CUCVs were done in desert... but all the ones I've seen were just straight sand. I've not seen one with the 3 or 4 color pattern.
Here's an example: http://www.public.asu.edu/~nate123/CUCV/Field%20Truck_files/DSCN3446.jpg
Hi All,
I recently had to pull my oil pan and reseal it due to a badly applied treatment of vintage silicone and a subsequent leak...
So I had to disconnect the trans cooler lines from the trans to get the torque converter cover off, to get the oil pan off, etc...
Everything went back...
Just a question here, on the parts TM I have (downloaded from LOGSA) it shows a plug on the drivers side front corner of the head where the temp sender goes. Mine is not there, it's mounted in the plate Armada describes. But, I am pretty sure that there is a plug in the head that might be just...
