The fronts were easy. The rears are being difficult. But alas, I will prevail. Borrowed a torque multiplier from a friend. After the first couple of cranks I had the internet brought up on my phone and I ordered my own. Those things are magical. Some of the outter nuts didn't want to...
Yup, after my main harness caught fire, and I spent an afternoon with a test light and multimeter, the repair ended up being covered with a hose I cut down one side AS WELL AS split loom on top of it. Now every place I could find with wire possibly touching metal it got a piece of hose wrapped...
Well, in the midst of everything last week I was able to get the front ones on!! This week I am going to work on flipping the hubs and getting the back ones on. It's LONG over due.
I'm at my wits end.
So, my last post I had pre-ordered orings for my aluminum MRAP wheels. The vendor I got them from said they "should" be the right ones. Apparently there are a couple options. Thank you Uncle Sam. Last weekend took the wheels to my guy at Pomps Tire to get the XL's...
A buddy works at Pomps. Took my MRAP wheels, my XL's, and my new o-rings over there the last time he worked so we could get these mounted up finally.
Everything was real smooth until we went to replace o-rings. Wrong size! I don't blame the vendor, not when I call and say, "hey I've got MRAP...
So if it comes time to order them up from someone, just telling them you have the aluminum 2 piece MRAP's with 11" centers doesn't mean squat. These orings were way off. Sending the set back, along with the one I removed so he can compare them and send me the right ones. He's close enough...
I hope to get her jacked up and start flipping the hubs today. Don't have my wheels/tires mounted yet, but I can still flip the hubs and single it out until I'm ready.
I'll talk to the crew and see who wants to go.
The biggest thing I'm looking at is are we able to camp starting thursday? Otherwise, my group has no hang ups.
When I go to the website, it shows the 12th. For a show. For Iola we would show up Thursday and leave sunday. Is this still going to be an option for the new location, or are we going to have to camp somewhere else?
Nice! Keep us informed. Please. Same weekend would be amazing on my end. Already have the time off request approved and it's terrible to get time off at this stage of the game.
That being said.....
This last year has me playing a role on the recreation side of things at Fort McCoy near...
I've only been to the last 4, but as a new observer I just didn't see that. Sure, everyone there basically stops to watch, but I wouldn't say that's the reason they came to begin with. That might just be my inexperience in the event speaking.
crap. I had posted that the iola show was canceled and it got moved to it's own thread.
The iola show was one of 2 events during the year that my son and I plan on above all else. We had already started planning 2017 while sitting around the fire last year. That being said, it's the first...
Yeah. And the car show lives on.
It's too bad they can't just trim back on some of the more dangerous items. I'm not a tractor guy, so make that it's own show. That hobby needs an outlet too, just not sharing ours.
Same with the re-enacting. It was cool, and my son loved it, but if it's...
