Good day!
We are putting the 977 into a car show this march, and plan to have a TV somewhere in the display area. We are hoping to find some factory videos from Oshkosh, or the US Army on the HEMTT (977 preferred).
What i'm after would be the equivalent of the deuce videos you see where the...
Here in Wisconsin school was canceled 2 hours early today. The packy snow is starting to pile up, so I fired up the deuce (after about a month) aired down the tires to about 25, and went to get the kids. Exiting the school there is a slight incline. The school buses were getting stuck, so I...
On pictures 4 and 8 of the second post, the truck is stuck. The original poster mentioned that the testers HATED those tires. I would imagine if they were deflated to about 20 pounds, they would be unstoppable. I guess we'll never know.
It was a neat interaction on the page. The gentleman stated that he only took the pictures, he didn't know anything about the trucks really. Once he started posting up these pics and guys started throwing out stats and information he was excited to learn about the trucks themselves.
It was...
Some more pics of experimental things. A lot of the pics were "Test" prototypes. Look closely, a lot of the items pictured didn't make it on our trucks. Some were built for foreign governments too.
A member on a facebook page dropped some history on us the other day. When he was a teenager, he worked at the REO plant in Michigan when they were building deuces. He posted up a ton of pictures that were just awesome.....
My Kenworth had a cold weather leak all the time too. Cold snap, I would find a puddle like this. Once my week got started and the truck was running (I rarely shut it off when I was out and it was cold), no more leaks. Come home for the weekend, and when it was time to leave I'd find this.
Ok, playing with the baby is awesome. But the truck sits patiently waiting in the driveway.
Once spring hits, these are the things I hope to focus on getting accomplished........
~ right away in the spring I plan to pull the bed off the truck. My good friend locally has a M977 and I hope to...
The truck has been sitting for about a week and a 1/2. In that time, the temp has dropped about 35 degrees to the teens.
Went out yesterday, popped the hood and checked oil/coolant. Both were good.
Started the truck. Now, in the past, she has started almost text book even in the coldest of...
I went to pick up the tires from a friend. Miscommunication found me at his house, and him still at work. They were stacked on a pallet. He was just going to use the forklift and put them right on the truck. Well, he wasn't there. So, I put them in the deuce one at a time. The first 3...
I got a set of 4 of the 395's.....for free. 80% tread. I've now got my 6 aluminum wheels. and I just ordered my peashooter adapters. Now, just 2 new steers, hardware, and i'm set. And the best part....a buddy that works at Pomps will mount them for me for free. This spring is going to rock!
The first pic is from a parade we did. I have the tan deuce. And Gerktron's 977.
After the same parade, they had a big ho-down at a buddy's land.
So when Gerktron was welding up my snorkel on my deuce, I got to drive the HEMTT to work! She was belle of the ball.
Our camp at the Iola...
I can't speak on the old style, but on my newer cover there are loops on the outside for when the cover is rolled up on the sides. Not sure if that's what you're facing?
Got my new decals last weekend! Didn't get a chance to post up because on friday we had our 3rd child!! 3 boys now. And they all love our deuce.
Literally 3 hours after he was born.
