Here is the your fuel system out of TM 9-2320-363-24P. I don't think its a check valve problem. Like some have already said...you are sucking air or there is no fuel being sucked from inside the tank.

TM 9-6115-654-14 has this as (2ea) 5KW generators mounted on a trailer. Has good info on your gen for troubleshooting and repair.

Per TM 5-6115-615-12. QTY required for 8 hours run time: JP8= 4.8 gal DF2= 4.0 gal

Around 7 to 8 hours depending on load. But I'll have to look it up in the operator's TM to be sure.

They should be 10HP gas engines. We had them on our 5KW generators back in the 80's.

If you can, check the bottom on the frame under the front of the bed. I have coded out a lot of these trailers for bad frames.

Check your ground wire from the top left rear of the engine to the terminal block(-) If its loose or missing it will cause the small neg wire on the front battery to over-heat when starting.
