So Who Got it
So who got the 543 in KY????? I gave up at watching at $1200, why would someone pay $3000plus for a 40 plus year old wrecker with a cracked transmission and frozen engine that had been sitting out in the woods of Ky for the last 10 years especially when the GSA guy tells anyone...
Russellville, AR
Family is still in Springdale, AR, I had a company make me an offer I couldn't refuse, so short retirement! I am commuting on the weekends from Russellville AR. 123 miles one way to Springdale. It has given me a chance to buy a cabin with five acres of hill top, just right...
One of Them
The one on GSA and I have found another one over in Mississippi. Talking to the guy at GSA the one they have is in pretty poor shape with a frozen engine and cracked transmission, he thinks freeze damage in both cases! And sitting for ten years in the weather is tough on it. The...
It looks like I may be getting a second M543A2 wrecker. It does not run but will roll on pretty good tires. Anyone have any idea how much rolling resistance there would be to pull the wrecker off a low boy trailer??? I have a portable 7500 lb rated electric winch along with a good single...
Swing Up seat mount.
There is a small wooden seat section the swings up to fill in the space when the tire is not mounted. I believe, mine has them as well and a part of the seat was still attached.

Sorry, LTL means Less Than Truck Load amount, trucking companies specialize in small loads like individual pallets, sometimes for very cheap rates depending on locations/hubs.

I have four of this type of compressor, but this is the only one with a Std.Mil. Engine, the others have the Wisconsin Robin engines of which I have a scrap one of those for parts but no use in this case!

Is the flywheel the same on the one and two cylinder engines? I picked up another one of the small compressors, it looks new except for the missing flywheel!
Thanks,
James G.
I was there in the spring, very friendly folks, with a lot of equipment and tons of parts. They were at the last OK Forestry Commission auction and about bought up everything.

GL told me a min. of 45 days on a first time EUC, but mine cleared in 26! I am happy with my 105 the wood is a little weather worn but the cover is mint.

There is salvage yard in Rogers Arkansas that uses these a lot, he had several of the civi models, next time I am there I will ask about a price if he is willing to sell. We have several large trucking firms here in Springdale, you see truck being hauled by this method pretty often.
