I think 3dAngus gets it, oddshot gets it, and if only two get it, then a difference has been made. Some people are too set in their ways to think outside the box. No one really knows me here. I had a wrench put in my hand at age 5, helping my father with his Model A and 32 Chevy. If I had a...
Welcome MX Rider. I was 14 when I got my first military vehicle. There were no websites back then...just veterans, fellow collectors you'd run into, jeep supply shops, and dad.
I didn't have anyone jump down my throat, or make me feel bad for getting into the hobby. Everyone was so helpful...
Well, in a moment of complete sanity, I bought an M35A2 from Dave Wang...beautiful truck! It has 10 new tires, which I will be selling soon. 12,000 miles on the whistler!
Then the next day, I went and won an M35A3 from Govliquidation. GL liquidated me for $4500. The Alpha 3 has 6200 miles and...
Ive had my M1009 for 5 years. Everyday driver, only had to replace power steering pump. All routine maintenance I do myself. Sometimes it is better to get a vehicle from someone who has road tested it, worked out the bugs, rather than to GL roulette.

Thanks for the amusing responses guys .
I knew it was going to be a bit expensive to transport and that was calculated in the cap on my bidding.
My fiance kicked me out of the house for a night last month when I bought a boat. Cant wait to see her reation when I tell her I bought two...
I had the same problem with mine. Turns out the bottom horizontal track somehow got bent. I bought a new track from LMC truck parts and bought the rubber liner that holds the glass in. I also check my side verticle runners and found the felt had worn away. I replaced those too. Everything works...
My data plates look nearly new as does the trailer. Only the round headed rivits holding the data plates seem a bit rusty.
The area for MFG and serial number have never been stamped.
There is a stencil on the frame "USMC 567439" Which is what I will probably have to supply to the GL for my SF97...
The SF97 is generated for you. That's why the form asks you for year, make, model, etc.
And yes, it is another way for GL to get money from you. It probably takes a few minutes to type out.
In order to get an SF97, I need to supply VIN#, year, etc to Gov LIQ.
Question is: Where is the VIN #? Is it stamped somewhere on the frame?
And how do i determine what year the trailer is. I have a CARC coating date of 02/2006. That is the only date I could find,
There are data plates on...
