I asked a few people about my brake issue.. All familiar with the Deuces, they did recommend I take a look at the shoes to make sure I didn't burn them up. With only 1,300 miles on the truck but given it's age and not having been driven for a while they though something with the air pressure...
I found that mine has two leaks in the front brake hoses.. Read on the TM's that this is an inherent problem and that they will break bec they are too short. Ordered a new set (which is longer) from Saturn Surplus and going to install. That could be a completely unrelated issue but need to...
Yeah it was Diesel mixed with some sort of gelling agent so I think that makes it pretty close to Napalm.. They also lit up a boat in the water and the gel was burning on top of the water in clumps.. pretty cool show.. You can also see it on the ground in the pic of the Fema trailer.
I had the exact same thing happened to mine on the recovery ride home. She was sitting for a while not driven much then they started locking up on all four tires on the ride back.. not fully locking up mind you.. once I realized I stopped. Put in reverse a couple of times.. pumped the brakes...

Cool story.. actually I just eyeballed a few 5 tons up at Ft Hood NY. Look like a great deal but I have to say I like the looks of the deuce better.. it's just the same as comparing a 1960s pickup to a 1980's pickup, which one looks better.. :-P
Wouldn't it be cool if every member was required to enter their zip code so that you could see where everyone was in relation to each other and not just have it as a voluntary thing? Then if you were organizing a rally you could PM everyone within a X Mile radius of the rally and possibly get...
Hmm, probably too late but thought I would throw my name in as well. I live in Mahopac NY and bought my truck in Middletown so I am familiar with the drive.. If it is road worthy I would come and get it whenever it is best for you. Let me know and I will be there with my Deuce. Do I need to...
