Thanks for the info. I was striking out on various online searches. Found some trailers similar to it with a large cabinet where the engine sets on this one. So does this mean that they would have been using WWII equipment up into the 90's? I think the data tag on the engine says something...
They guy that my friend and I bought our trailers from used this one to haul fuel to his dozer and my m149 was used to haul water for the cattle. Back when I farmed, I would have loved to have had this trailer too. Think it is either a 400 gallon or 600 gallon unit. The only thing not military...
Does anyone know if there is or what the m# number for this trailer might be? Data plate reads
Fuel Servicing
Type A-1B
Spec MIL T7623
MFG P# T 1000
SN K55822
Order # AF-33-600-24129m
Stock# 5045-5-5602
Paramount products corp.
Unfortunately I don't have a picture of the data plate.
A...
Looking good. Now this is the kind of modification that I like. It looks like it belongs in the military, yet it is practical for your use, and I love the tires.
Back in the day, I drove an R with the two sticks and a 3500 gallon fertilizer tank. Mack engine and tranny. Like DieselBob said, not a racer but it would haul or move anything. Great low end torque, and the multiple gears in reverse made it handy. Worst thing about it was the huge steering...
Back when I bought my deuce, I had absolutely every intention of making it a bobbed truck. As the first summer of parades and veterans using the truck, I knew in my heart that I could not bob tha gut truck and still sleep at night. Too many guys have came up to me and began telling stories...
I have one guy who supplies me with wmo that looks almost like brand new. All highway miles and is religious about the 3000 mile mark. It's still a golden color when it arrives here. I'll take it and blend it with diesel, to thin it down, then I take the wvo, blend it with gasoline, then blend...
During the summer, I will run super heavy on wvo or wmo, or combo blend. By this time of the year, I try to get as low as possible on the tank and flush with straight winterized blended fuel. Not that I drive my truck much in the winter, but in case I do need to fire up and run, I have a fuel...
Same here, down in the SE IA neck of the woods, it can be quite a haul in a deuce to central Iowa. Love my deuce, but it can wear a guy out on a long haul.
Mike, you are really re-enforcing my decision to not buy this truck!! This appears to be about the first time I have read about these diesels running away with themselves. Fairly common on the old screaming detroits back in the day. Considering this engine was re-incarnated/bastardized...
Has anyone, especially fellow members in the Northeast used their water buffalo's to haul maple sap? Before going forward, I have thoroughly scrubbed and sterilized this tank. The only thing that has been in since then is treated city water. What I'm most concerned about is how easily it is...
One thing I would recommend not doing is going to your local welding supply store and asking for parts. The biggest problem with off-branded machines are that consumable items tend to be sparse in dealerships where Miller, Hypertherm, Esab, and Thermal Dynamics are the brands. Another thing to...
Glad I didn't buy that blue beast for what the guy was asking when I looked at it. For what you gave on it, it will be nice to have as a parts vehicle.
This was a pretty funny thread considering most are nothing but serious. For the first several posts, my mind was thinking "the aerial application of birth control did not work". Plus I thought that someone should confiscate the deuce and show him how it is done. Then I realized that the...
Well, the emergency management has an M932. Assuming that is what it is, single tires all the way around, drop side box, no CTIS. Very good condition. Funny thing is it didn't need jump started, just to turn on the power. That is a whole other story.
You too? Thought mine was unique in that aspect. I get some stray rain drops from somewhere on the seam between the hard top and the windshield frame on occasion.
Thanks for the information. I'll let you know what truck they have. That will give me some more info to throw at them. Basically I'm going to show them how to do things like read the data plates, basic info on cab controls that are quasi-universal to military vehicles, all the things that...
Our county emergency management agency recently acquired some sort of a surplus 6x6 truck. They don't know if it is an M35A2, M35A3, or an M900 series and I haven't seen it yet to know what they have. Anyway I'm going to go give them a brief rundown of things to look for, check, and simple...
