One of my favorite Deuce Uses, hauling ROKONs of course! Fit eight of them in the back with room to spare. Brought them up to Mt. Washington for the ATV auto road day. The ultimate off-road machine requires the ultimate hauler 8)
Just found out a convoy of six heavies will be coming up from MA on Friday morning, an M916, M977, M983 two M923A1s and another Deuce. Trying to coordinate a rendezvous. Anyone who will be joining the convoy PM me from now on so we can start coordinating.
The set screw on the base holds the entire assembly tightly together by clamping the control shaft (visible in the third pic) in place, the swivel end has been lubed with anti-seize to prevent rust. I have no concerns with the way I built the extension nor do I have any doubts about the overall...
No adhesive, two different sized tubes cut to the same length. Inserted the inner tube and left the same amount exposed as the pivot section on the original piece making a perfect male/female extension.
Had to alter this to allow installation of my light bar.
Needed to eliminate the angle and go for a reinforced flat mount. Also needed to extend the shaft out a couple inches, got the handle more out of the way.
Bumping because I got a glimpse of one of these babies yesterday at an air/car show. It was an active unit that was being used to handle the extra traffic at the relatively small airport. Mine on display in the second pic.
I had to use mine as a daily a couple weeks one summer when my pickup's trans was getting fixed, fun at first but after a few days your left knee, upper arms, ears and wallet start to hurt!
I have an Idea, let's make the rally point the Portsmouth traffic circle. We can use the liquor store parking lot as a staging area, it is right off of 95 so anyone coming from Maine or Eastern MA can meet us there. Then we can just take route 4 to 202 and straight into Concord.
Route 4 and 202 would be a great convoy route. Speed limit doesn't exceed 55 until you get into Concord. It's a nice leisurely and scenic route with plenty of places to stop for breakfast and no shortage of public attention. I'm thinking you guys could do 95 N through Hampton to 101 like...
If you take 101 to Epping and take 125 up to Lee you can rendezvous with me at the traffic circle and we can pick up mbfod in Northwood. If the timing is right we can catch the 93 north boys in the Bow/Concord area.
