I used to do commercial telecom about 15 years ago, it doesn't take nearly as long as you think - probably a day for all ~200 of the data connectors, they snap into the power connectors - I'd guess probably another day or two for those. A Couple of weekends maybe, or some nights when I can't...

I would skip pulling in the data lines but I really want to be careful with shielding, make sure it's difficult to damage the data connections, and make sure data gets connected last (power first), so putting it in one connector is critical Mouser has them at $26 ($21.36 in my expected volume)...

Right but OP was asking about the possibility of using just one 24V alternator - follow this train of posts: Charging a pair of series 12V batteries with a single 24V alternator and supplying both 24V loads and 12V loads is SPECIFICALLY what a Vanner/equalizer is for. Here re the two ways...

But a vanner/equalizer would do exactly what you want. One 24V alternator across two 12V batteries, even with 12V loads only pulling from one battery, it'll charge the 12v battery properly.
