How do you eat an elephant?

I feel the same way about my M1009 sometimes, but for the past 6 years, it has been used just about everyday and has only let me down when I screwed with something !
I'll post the dimension when I get back to my garage. Then I'll go to Superbright LEDs and see if I ca find a match. I looked thru the Napa Lighting Catalog. A lot of cool conventional lights! If you have spare time just asl a counterman for it.
After painting the top of my M1009, I was thinking about putting in a dome light .
It looks like there is a place for one on the passenger rear side.
It is a square hole with a hole drilled on each side.
Anyone know what fits this?
Also, Anyone put a dome light in the cab?

Okay...I put in 2 new group 31 batteries, full charged. The gen 1 and 2 lights are still on. I checked output at driver side alternator and got a 12.26+ reading.
Does anyone have any ideas why the lights dont go out?
What is the correct output of the alternators with fully charged batteries?
Does anyone have the relay part numbers for Gen 1 and Gen 2?
This is for an ongoing problem I'm having and am starting with the least expensive stuff first.
thanks for all your help!!!

In regards to the gen lights:
What are the symtoms of a bad battery, ie: a battery not taking a charge?
My generator lights stay on and the ammeter register in the yellow?
This is all a result of me arching the ammeter with the shifter while the vehicle was running. It blew the lowest fuse...
This is ALL 4 by Kens fault!!! If he had just left his instrument panel alone, I wouldn't have went into mine...ehehe
Thanks Panama and 4boggin...where are the panel relays located?

In the process of changing my instrument lights to leds, I had changed all the bulbs, the instrument bezel was out and as the truck was running, the instrument bezel slipped and the back of the ammeter touched the shifter. A spark resulted and now the ammeter doesn't work...and the left...
Okay, did my dash lite to led change. Not really worth the effort. The change isn't really that noticeable. I was hoping to make the speedo brighter, but from where the bulb is placed - it really doesn't make much of a difference.
Then! The back of my ammeter touched my column shifter and...
Don't be yanking on your speedo cable! You might want someone with small hands and arms. I had to lay on my back and contort. Follow the speedo cable to the back of the instrument panel. There is a spring clip at the panel. push it in and pull the cable. To reinstall, it just pushes in.

Well, I've decided to paint my M1009, starting with the top, which I have removed. I took all the weatherstripping off and am using a Martin Senour catalyzed tan primer. I am top coating it with Desert Tan from Tri City Paints "Kustom Shop Flatz"
HRF 233 - Desert Tan
This topcoat is urethane...
Does anyone have a lead on where to get the stock M1009 rear seat covers? I think the seat back is a zippered unit. Anyone bought blazer seat covers from LMC? Warren
i just read your post and did in fact pick up two bilge plugs that will seal out the water. they'll do until i hook up the rt524, but i carry my 3 kids in the back and the tray was removed because it interfered with kid's seating. Still looking for the correct grommets...
