    Have you named you truck?

Sometimes it is SOB, M-F'er, you lousy, tire-chewing, wallet-biting, diesel-spewing eyesore or the WH-word for the world's oldest profession. Then after a half-an-hour of apologies it's back to....see the can and the signature below...read Blake Edwards "The Great Race".

M35 won't steer to the right?

Nothin' a can of squelch juice and a right handed crowbar couldn't handle:wink: If not the crowbar try a left handed monkey wrench.

Westy's NUTs are off ....the 5ton that is...lol

Thread started yesterday and, well, here we are 31+ posts later. Amazing how a simple title will grab one's attention ...Westy's NUTs are off ...rofl Westy, I hope you are feeling refreshed, relaxed and reinvigorated...er, now that all that heavy work is done. Now, as I always say, Charlie-Mike...

    M813 Grill Differences?

The flat bar grille says, " I am M-series...there is NO substitute!" The flat Bar grille ties the family relation of the 5-Ton and Deuce together. The tube style grille looks tacky and cheap. I have never been fond of it. That's why I bought a truck with the nicer grille.

California ARB (CARB) and Diesel "pollution"

Here is the legislation as of 12-17-10. http://www.arb.ca.gov/regact/2010/truckbus10/truckbusappa.pdf Pay special attention to Title 13, CCR, Sec. 2025(c)(10), Sec. 2025(d)(36) and make sure to review CVC Sec. 5004. As far as I can see, there is no "wear out" date on this exemption. By 2021...

    State Fire Apparatus

Man, what a motorpool[thumbzup] I especially fancy the Dodge P/W's and the CCKW. Of course, the M-series rigs are always favorites. The R-Mack ex-fueler is one serious piece of apparatus. Thanks for the great pics and thanks to your department for allowing them to soldier on in such a noble...

    My 5 ton

Your 813 looks mighty handsome. Dave's guys did a good job painting her up. Your not planning on losing it's "old school" classic look by installing those over-sized "Randy's Donuts" tires (see pic), are you?? Keep the duels...they look great.

    the General is almost ready

Well, I must say The General was lookin' a bit bedraggled in his earlier days. The before and after pics do the truck justice in its finished form.

This truck is so BAD A..!!!! I'm in LOVE....

Good lookin' 916, Soni. The big donuts give it a mighty look[thumbzup]. Did your no-good, pansy-@$$ neighbor move out yet?? I still want to move out your way and play steam choo-choos and and big green (tan??) Tonka trucks with you Chama folks. No one buys those things east of Kalifornia...do...

    advice on new 5 ton

:ditto:Yep. The CA DMV inspectors are no joke. Mine was very courteous and professional. BUT, very meticulous to say the least. I did pass all the practicals, pre-trip inspection, skills and road test, with a first time "go". They are serious about it out here in CA. Three Axles+ and/or 26K+lbs...

    advice on new 5 ton

813/813A1 are 30K+ GVWR. Remember the cut-off is 26K or less GVWR for CDL, however, each state interprets Fed DOT CDL requirements differently depending on truck use. With 5-Tons you should probably resign yourself to getting a CDL for safety and liability sake. Remember lawyers will find fault...

New Wisconsin HMV law in effect Oct 1st.

I admire all the strength and tenacity possessed by WI MV owner/operators. Keep up with the good fight. The plates are are very cool. Wish we had MV plates like that here in CA. I can't put Veteran plates on or I'll get stuck paying all the commercial fees. So I stick with the Historic plates...

My Deuce, From Purchase to Present

Was with Ole' Uncle Pete for a short while from 03-99 (06-99 conductors date) to late 2001. Worked LA to Yuma, LA to Yermo, Yard service in LA and West Colton. Went back to LA County...work was more steady. I like your resto job on your Deuce. Looks very dignified in the Nam Era paint and...

My Deuce, From Purchase to Present

Nice truck! I like the pic of the meats in the living room. My wife would have my @$$ for that. I like the items in the background to the right also...a railroad man's grip and lantern...which road??? Unruly & Pathetic or the Been Nothin' So Far??

    17 mpg?

Don't really worry much about mileage. Didn't get into the hobby to make friends down at the EPA. After all I do drive a Rolls Canardly...Rolls down one hill, Canardly make it up the next.
