Bought my M813A1 from Ted. It was good to go except for a bit of plastic that'd been floating around in the fuel tank. Really hard to miss unless you suck it up the fuel intake and then pull that out with the plastic in it. Otherwise the truck was a good runner. Dave Schaeffer has it now. If...
Haven't driven it yet. I'm up in Canada right now. We left last night from outside philly at 10pm, drove all night, got into near Toronto this morning loaded a CMP HUP, then drove up past Toronto to another town to get an armored hull from Minakers Junk Yard. We're crashing in a hotel Near...
I'll be at the Reading Airshow at the Mid Atlantic Air Museum the first weekend of June. I'lll have the deuce and Dingo there, the deuce will be in the parking lot (not a WWII vehicle) and the Dingo will be in the gathered area.
I'm headed to Philly tonight on Amtrak. Me and a few buddies will...
A hub step would be a very good idea. Make a place to step up to get to the fender and would help protect the hubs. Question is how thick it needs to be.
No prob. I can go collect it and figure something to get it out of the truck and toss it under the fly with the Ferret, extra fuel tank, AN/MPQ-51 bits and lawnmowers. :-)
I guess it's about time to get an A-Frame with a chain fall. How much does one of those engines weigh? I always need...
Dang. :? I checked back posts to see, but wasn't sure of the status of that. Figured it was long past. I paid $595 for the set, how much more did I pay?
It's an Airshift. I bought the Cast units. The Billet ones aren't that much better, but apparently, the chaps at OE started making them because some of the rock crawler crowd was worried about the cast units failing. I suppose if you hit the hub with a huge rock as you roll over on your side it...
I'll be coming back from PA on June 5. If you've got anything to be brought back from the area, let me know. I can toss it in the back of the Deuce if need be and bring it back to Atlanta.
Just gave the nice man a credit card number to order them and get them shipped to where the deuce is in PA. That way they'll be waiting for me when I get there next week and I can bolt them on for the trip to Reading and then back home.
See http://www.oshkoshtruck.com/defense/products~hetuk~1070f.cfm for more on the HET. Oshkosh has photos up on the UK trucks as well. Seems like they had some sales videos a while back that had lots of good details.
IF the point load is the same, what's the difference? The only question is if bridges can handle the weight, but then if they get tow trucks of the same weight crossing at the same time, it's the same weight no?
Those wheels on the HETT trailer caster as I recall.
The South Eastern Railroad Museum in Duluth, Ga is having an Armed forces Day. They're hosting an Armed Forces Day event and are looking for MVs to show up at the Museum on Saturday.
It's a good location and given the amount of space they have, there's the possibility of coordinating with the...
