Bjorn, I'll extend the offer of a hot shower and fold out bed again if you're passing by Atlanta. I'm on the east side of town, I285 on the Lavista Road Exit. 1842 Briarlake Circle
Hmm, Looks like Google Maps is a hair off. My house is SW of the Pipper that google throws up. My house has the...
Gerhard's conversion. It's nice and compact. No need to relocate the spare tire and the hydraulic pump looks like it fits right in there, even with a larger tire that he has (super single in an XL tread). That I like. Question is, Gerhard, what control linkage do you use for your PTO on the...
Ahh, so you don't even go past the spare tire with the PTO shaft. What pump is that and what did you use for mounting kit? That' seems rather elegant for an installation. Any interference issues?
So you're trucking along doing what you always do but on hills and the pyrometer gets hotter. What do you do? Pull over and idle down to let the engine cool off?
So I have a pretty conventional M35A2 w/W that has a double output shaft PTO on the transmission. Obviously, the front PTO shaft and main control lever power the front mounted Winch. I was looking at the underside of the truck the other day when I was running some extra wires for my electric...
Jones, question for you on the Fabrication tasks. Couple of friends of mine and I are interested in fabbing up a few replica Humber Light Recce Cars.
How do you setup engine and gearbox mounts? Hang the engine in the right place, steady it and make some measurements and then go from there?
So other than adhesives on the painted/primed metal to hold down the insulating panels, what other methods are there?
What about over the insulating panels in the cab. The floor should get a nice tough bit of rubber sheeting, but what about the cab sides/rears? Sheetmetal? Aluiminum sheet?
The air chuck that latches on and a yellow extension hose is very useful. Get a remote filler setup so that if you have a low tire on the road, you can do a safe re-inflate with out being in the path. I added Quick Disconnect chucks to them and that way I can add customize the hose setup for...
Frankly, I'd like my Deuce to be quieter so I can drive it longer with out feeling like I've been inside a trash can rolling down a hill. I'm looking at an annual trip of 10 hours or more to PA and lets face it, Deuce's are the most comfortable of trucks. Insulation that deaden's sound is easy...
Well, I have to run 12 volts in the cab to power my GPS for navigation and it'd be nice to have some tunes on the iPod. But since I decided to depart from the trailer mounted Brake Controller setup (Squirt Truck's idea and he's moving away from it too it appears) I have to get lots of amps in...
I had always understood that there are in fact two sets of races. An inner and an outer. The bearings themselves (needles, cones or balls) run in the races and are held together by the cages.
Now, is it bad if a race can spin a touch in what it's driven into?
Seems like a maintenance stand for an aircraft engine would work great. Provide a deck you could walk around on and work on the engine bay from all three sides.
I'm currently dealing with a 24/12 volt issue. I chose to swap bulbs out for 24 volt type bulbs as easiets. My 24/12 volt converter is going to power cab equipment like my GPS and the 24 volt brake converter. I need to tap into the brake air lines to get a second brake function switch that I can...
I've locked the brakes up on my Deuce. Going down a gentle 45mph hill and realized I needed to stop for a just changed light. It was on that borderline of do I stop or do I keep going kind of thing. I elected to stop. I dragged the rear tires and launched my rather tough Apple Powerbook onto the...
What's the amperage limits of the 12 pin trailer receptacle and cable? Does anyone think it'll handle 12 amps of current intermittently like for electric brakes? Squirt truck has a design for a brake conversion kit that I'm still thinking of altering to put the brake controller in the cab with...
