I have put between 5 and 6000 miles on mine in a year. Only thing I have done to it is 2 oil changes and oil filters. Even that is really easy.
It is a dern good truck. My whole family loves mine.
Been running 95 to 100% WMO for thousands of miles. Does great. I filter it pretty well and use a water separator.
Mix a little gas with it in the winter to thin it out some. My truck started fine with a 90 WMO 10% diesel/old gas mix at 25 degrees.
Hey mike! Leave a little at Brad's for the rest of us!
I was going to head there last Tuesday but I was stuck at Seattle airport for 4 hours after a work trip because of the snow and didn't make it home till 6 in the morning. Just couldn't bring myself to drive back the next day in the storm...
The door jam was a total pita for me. After I had that all bolted in I use a couple pry bars to spread the clamp enough to wedge the pole in. I then made good use of a large sledge hammer to seat the pole down where it should be.
17 seems a little crazy, but I wasn't there so I can't say it is impossible.
Best I have ever done in my A2 is 13 on a wmo mix. (ATF, MO, old diesel) I wasn't going much over 45 for that whole tank. I can't imagine they are THAT much different considering auto vs stick.
When you first said you were putting this in your GMC I was thinking m211. Just a little disappointing.
It is good seeing this apart. A buddy of mine might be pulling his 6.2 out of his suburban soon for a crank and it is good to see it apart.
I love the red valve covers.
Run as fast as you can.
I am pretty sure I would have a hard time taking that truck for free. To even start to get it to resemble a deuce would take so much money and time especially with all the missing parts and the crumbled hoist that did who knows how much damage.
I run 50 in the rears and 60 up front. Seems to be the best combo for me.
I had a nasty vibration on mine right about 50 when I got my truck. Seems GL forklifted it with the drive line. Bastar.....
It's ok man, we are here for you... taunting you with a new truck. They do funny things to families I'll tell you. I stumbled on mine and it really turned into a thing my family loves to have fun with, almost like part of the family itself. We do so many adventures in it. Like going garage...
One of those showed up at the Napavine rally here in Washington. It was night when it trundled in. Everyone thought he was pulling a trailer. Awesome truck.
