That's right - drinking wine and running electrical wires :)
Awesome.
You can pull power from both 24V battery sets on the generators, and put it through a load sharing board like this. For a start signal ride-through you can just use a capacitor large enough to support the load during...
Is there an equalizer on the batteries or is it just the engine computer (DDEC)? Might be a good idea to hook up a large Solargizer if it's going to sit for any length of time (>1-week).
Marine primary wire is in a water/oil/etc. resistant jacket (usually a form of PVC), using fine stranded not solid conductors for vibration resistance to metal fatigue, and the strands are tinned so they don't corrode as easily.
The crimp-on connectors used in marine applications are usually...
Well, no...
There will be GPS as a tool, but mostly these will either sit on a table wired into the shelter's network switch, or they will work as mesh nodes. If used in the shelter, they can be used as web terminals or call-center-controllers/dispatch-kiosks, or other work producing station...
Yes. No OS, no HDD, no optical drive, 1-2GB ram, some not touch or sunlight readable (<500nit), parts missing, parts broken...
All but one are running properly now, one has an overheat issue - but also a leaking heat-pipe (obvious, simple fix under $30). I just this evening received the 4...
Last of the four ToughBooks has arrived, another check box :). Ebay has great deals on these, each was less than $100 shipped.
They are CF-30 MkII with a sun-light readable touchscreen+stylus and a DVD-rom/CD-burner, these will be built up a bit. Each will have 8GB ram, A/B/G/N/AC WiFi, 1TB...
Weird, I was reading the instructor guide for DAGR and that says it can load crypto-keys to decode L1/L2 P(Y) codes for higher precision positioning data, and has built-in anti-spoofing/anti-jamming hardware internally - it can also output the HAVEQUICK 800kHz timing signal without external...
Only way that would happen is if someone sneaked it off base and out of inventory - didn't go well for the last guy on eBay recently. Being a device with classified crypto hardware (plus the HAVEQUICK anti-jamming hardware) - I'd imagine the charge for receiving a stolen one of those would be...
Not to be argumentative here, but 72Watts is 7.2% of the peak/ideal generation power of your solar (very nearly 10% or 1/10th). Also recall that in order to recharge batteries you need to put about 125% of the used charge into the battery (charging is not 100% efficient either). This means...
So Isaac-1 I did go back to the HDT Heater Catalog and I see that while the SHC/MHT35 is "just right" for a 305, the SHC/MHT60 is too - it's only 130lbs (65lbs/person, two person lift) and double the output, while still being self-powered.
I'll look into those heaters for the 305s, but I think...
Probably won't happen unless Mr. Snowden leaks the RTL, schematics, and firmware for the DAGR - it has NSA-grade crypto-gear permanently built in and like HMMWV is summarily destroyed once no longer of use to DoD.
I think this site still has/manufactures the d-sub type RF connector for the PLGR...
Fyi, "less than 6-amps" at 12Volts is still "up to 72watts" idle. :)
If space is a concern, mini-splits are fairly easy to fit in most things, and directly reject the heat to the outside with only a small refrigerant plumbing hole in the enclosure. Interestingly, most home HVAC equipment works...
If your AC cycles, but the inverter stays running, it's wasting power... The two places that most power are lost in an inverter is the transistors (BJT, MOSFET, IGBT) and the transformer (and losses here can vary based on the type of transformer and frequency of the driver signal). Loss on a...
For the larger alternators on the trucks it will depend on the model of the alternator - you'll need to look at the case of the alternator to find the model - it should be on a tag or data-plate.
