I know Im going to make allot of waves but I agree with the swap! I had a 6.2 and 6.5 and they run best when hooked to a chain on one end and a boat at the other! I can see the sparks flying from the 6.2 lovers but thats my experience with them.
The other day I notice some bubbles in paint near the tie down outside ring on the cargo bed. Looking close I see the welds are not completly arounf the full circle. Water seeps between the backing plate and the wall of the cargo box. YES I would rust. Under the layers and layers of paint the...
Did you see any cracking or dry rot? Also was there any rust on the cyclinder? I think I have one pod leaking. I try to drain the tanks every use but I think water still gets in the system.
Bottom line its a 5 ton truck. Thats not all that much when you consider todays standard. Allison makes more HD models but the one offered in the 900 series seems to work good. I must be honest I have never pulled anything or big weight but I have drove them thousdands of kilometers and never...
I have a M931A1 and a M923A2 both with the allison auto. I would say its a over kill with this trans and what the truck weighs loaded. I did have to adjust my trans some to loose the hard shifts but now they shift pefrect. I also changed the trans fluid to DEX3. The auto trans lets me...
I was worried I wont lie. I did not think it would finsh as nice as it did. The easy out was a waist of time. The stock bolts are super soft and they drilled out perfect in center. I had the right tap and got her tapped perfect. I think I was lucky.
Dont make the same mistake I did. Spray the crap out of the bolts with WD 40 maybe 5 times in 24 hours. Then dont try to lossen them completly. Tighten a little then lossen and then tighten again and spray more. Then try to lossen them. Buy new bolts and gaskets are the new steel kind. I broke 2...
Mine now turns on at 170° and runs till it cools to 160°. Sounds like it wont release. I tried a cheap fix by sparying WD40 down the tube and took the valve apart spraying more WD40 inside it. Has the truck set for long?
Well I got it done! I had to ports leaking and the orginal gaskets were the classic old gasket but the new were 4 "slices" of stainless steel. I did have to bolts break off but I had ordered new bolts. I drilled out the old ones and tapped in new threads and all went back together and no more...
Well I had time to remove this valve and spray some WD40 inside it and it works! That saved me some money and I suggest anyone having the same problem try the same before buying a new one.
