Yeah...I'm filtering back in a little- :-D
M1075- I'll have to give you a ring one of these days and check on things! Ah...those wheels; at least I heard he was out of business-
I've had a boom that I could pop onto my John Deere but about the heaviest thing I could grab was a Big...
Wow, when I put this thing on I didn't think I'd use it ALL the time. I've gotten a bunch of heavy stuff cleaned up, some other items moved, things unable to be lifted to work on...LIFTED and worked on, etc. Love my crane!
Some of you remember my Off Road M715, Velvet, that I took to TTC...
Thanks Tim! New truck may end up being called, "Smoke." It really is a good runner. I've done well so far not trading it for a 5 ton even though I have a 475hp 'Silver 92' Detroit and 13sp RoadRanger BEGGING me to be put into one of those. Begging, I tell you! Going from the 240hp NHC to...
Took a couple more pics last night of the crane 'nested.' The outriggers do not stick out any further then the outside of the tandems...pretty much dead even, so no odd looks or hassles there. I did have to mount them a little differently than stock as I mounted the outriggers ahead of the...
Done?! What's that? It's due to get all the colors matched up again now.
Bjorn, there's a pic early in the thread of it nested but I'll grab one with bed and all in the next couple of days and get it posted. Truck is looking pretty meaty these days.
I'm thinking about hinging the rear...
WOW...long time getting back to this, holy smokes! Well, when I left off I had been working on the pump sizing. I did use the big Commercial pump I had like Bjorn's and it worked out GREAT! All functions of rams and oil motors have very comfortable speed to them. The valve block itself is...
RE: Re: a reeeeaeeeealllll dumb question...
I've a 636ci, 225hp, 1160 CAT. It's basically the 3208 with a different IP. Runs great, pulls well, turns plenty of R's. :) ...and just found the rack stop so it may be a 250hp or so engine soon. :D
See if you're able to get it out of the GL lot and maybe stage it at a local business for a couple of bucks. My truck is 18,000# so I'm over two tons up on any other deuce for towing. If you can get off the GL lot maybe a saturday we can drag her home.
What's the 813 weigh? Do you mean Starret's Gap? My deuce is 18,000# and pulls 14,000# winch deuce trucks with no problems. You're also going to have a REAL slow 45 miles if you have to tow with a whole 136 hp of the stock deuce.
Remember this post folks? Been playing with deuces and haven't run across the right 5 ton yet for the project. Um...I also may not be putting this 370hp 8V71 into the truck. I may be putting a 475hp 8V92 "Silver" in it's place! HA :) I've also been doing mucho research on the Allison auto...
RE: YES!!!
Make sure the front tires on the towee are pumped up as high as recommended and that truck will tow like a dream. Soggy tires on the towee will turn your day into a massive headache.
I nestled a 20,000Lb Garwood from a five ton truck in the rear of my M35. Got busy on other stuff and have not finished the drive for it yet.
I also have a 10,000Lb Garwood under the rear of my big M715. Acquistion cost, 150' new 1/2" wire core cable, new Muncie PTO for NP205, making...
