In the Marines, I saw angle iron cut / welded into a rack of sorts and then we put tools in motar boxes and slid them in. We used rubber foam on the bottom to keep the tools from making TONS of noise, and a small chain with a padlock to keep them from falling out.

I would love to see a lot more gear at the Ft. Carson site. It's like going to the flea market, but with so many stories about some of the things there we see.

I've seen this before, it was a combination of a bad air filter and bad glow plugs. Usually black smoke is unburned fuel, and that is even more likely if you have an overwhelming exhaust smell... On the 6.2's I think the back two cylinders had a lot of problems with glow plugs going out. Hope...
