    Slow Cranking

Why thick glass? Any size over 1/8" will take a hail-ball with olympic strength. Cut a sheet to cover the panels, lay it over the top, seal it around the edges with a flexible sealant. Plexiglass is notorious for "crazing" so in about 5 years, it will have to be replaced anyhow. Sooner if you...

MY NUMBERS ON REO (DEUCE )

I don't think it is a Naval truck #. They use black sprayed tac marks like the Marines do. It would say something like "M11310" and have no "license plate" or non-tactical lighter colors on the scheme. I believe the "CR" is a notation towards the US "c" system of combat rediness. "CR" means...

    M35 sound

Well, if you use standard truck tires on it, you'll get 30-80,000 miles from them. They'll dry rot before they loose all of the tread. on a 5-1/2 gal oil system, that is tested for bad oil every 3,000 miles and sometimes changed as far out as 30,000 with constant use. Other than that, unless...

    M35A3, another opinion.

I like the single wheels, muffler, and the almost 5-ton intake, but that's it. Those CTIS hubs make it look corny. I guess it has always been function over form for these trucks... Now the new 8 Tons are COOL! I think oshkosh makes them. We had 6 in the artilllery battery I left in 1999.

Anyone know who made the LDT turbo? How about bore x stroke

Heated, yes. but it actually works as a crude intercooler too (until it heat soaks). Temp of the charge air at a few psi boost was something like 230 degrees, if I remember properly... I don't have my notes with me.

Anyone know who made the LDT turbo? How about bore x stroke

Well, with an intercooler, I would only have to go to 10psi and develope a huge amount of power vs. turning up boost and hurting the head. I appreciate the knoweldge about the head gasket and studs.

"Super" deuce on ebay... 427 hp!!!

I thought this was funny: Specs of the original M35 A1 Specs: Engine: Continental, LDS-427-2 Multifuel, Compression Ignition, 6 Cylinder Horsepower: 427 HP Transmission, synchromesh: Spicer 3053A Width: 88 in. Length 262 in. (without winch) Empty weight: 13,443 lbs. (again w/o...

Anyone know who made the LDT turbo? How about bore x stroke

Ok so using the stock turbo, and a proper a/f ratio (slightly lean of stoichiometric), I'm calculating that the engine will develop about 307 hp and 601 ft. lbs. of torque at 15psi (which will not leave the proper efficiency island for this turbo). The trick here is properly tuning the...

    Deuce project / Baby HEMTT

Jones - I have a question about the T-case mount, are those rubber or silicone dampeners? I was wondering about the difference, if any, on how they hold up over time. I've gotta say that you have one of the most craziest projects I've seen in a while, but it is such a cool idea. I wish I had...
