Well there was a time when I had the deuce sitting next to the truck you bought out beside the road at the shop. After hearing this, I wonder if somebody could have tampered with them there. Shortly after you bought the truck is when I started having problems with the deuce.
I don't think it's algae. I've dealt with it before and the stuff I'm dealing with has a much thicker consistency.
My uncle is in the landscaping business and he borrowed my truck and left it on the jobsite a couple of nights. Right after he brought it back I started having the problems. I'm...
I've got to do this asap. I keep collecting something best described as snot on the intake screen. It keeps plugging my screen. I've pulled the pump and cleaned the screen and changed the filters twice and still having problems.
I bet that price didn't include loading and getting the deuce to the railroad yard. They usually charge quite a bit to load and secure it to the car per their standards.
You've also got to consider there's at least a 50% chance it will be vandalized. Loaded cars can sit on sidings for days on...
This is why I rarely go pull out stuck vehicles anymore unless they are paying or are a very close friend. Seems like you always end up worse off than the guy you were trying to help. Also, most of the time they are somewhere they shouldn't be (trespassing) and doing something stupid when they...
It's really better to charge each battery separately. Sometimes, when you have low voltage, one battery is drained more than the other. By charging them with a 24v charger you get one battery overcharged and one undercharged. The overcharged battery will be damaged.
A 24v charger is nice for...
I'm biased toward Cummins so I'd go with a 6bt. Plenty of room and good hp. You could use the stock trans but you may want to go with something a little heavier and better gear ratios. I haven't took any trans measurements so I'm unsure what would fit.
A Cat 3208 or International DT466 would...
I've got a old cj5 that needs seats. I came across a good deal on some M38A1 seat cushions so I picked them up. I've already modded the bottom cj frames so the cushions will fit but I'm having trouble with the backs. I looks like I'm going to have to fabricate a new back frame. Does the back...
Every now and then somebody comes along to tell you how to make big HP out of a multifuel or a NHC250. Most of them have gas racing engine experience and no big diesel experience. They hang around a while and talk about big mods mostly found in race engines then they fade into obscurity without...
I've always contended that the best way to get higher HP out of these engines would be to lower the compression. You'd loose your multifuel capability though. The high compression generates a lot of heat and puts more strain on the lower end.
I don't think you'll blow it up. I don't think you'll make any more hp over a turbo though.
Build it and lets see some results and you can shut me up. :D
Without looking it up, I think the advertised hp for a LDT-465 is around 140hp.
I've heard some crazy claims of hp before but without some dyno numbers to back it up, I'm skeptical.
A LDS-465 is nice but they are kind of rare to find in a deuce. A LDT-465 is a good engine also and can be turned up to close, if not the same, hp as the LDS.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you find a LDS powered truck, of course jump on it but don't be too disappointed if you have...
I have seen bad things happen if the caged brake has brake air pressure applied (somebody pushes the brake pedal with air in the tanks with the bolts in). It can break the bolts and/or chamber and parts can go flying.
Yea, it looks like the same place where they filmed the moon landing.
Why in the world they didn't put a clutch on the winch for free spooling is beyond me. We've got one of those winches mounted on the back of a civi KW. We took the level wind off because 3/4 line is hard enough to pull...
There should be one in the holder in each (spring) brake chamber. If they are missing you may want to get some. You never know when you may need to cage your brakes.
