I was at FOB Speicher from 2003 to 2004(DS Maintenance Company) now I'm at CKV over by Jordan/Iraq border. I load and unload all the KBR/Mil convoys here. I should be back home in July.

My M1028 runs great. I've had it for over 10 years now and have put over 120,000 miles on her. I replaced the injector pump around seven years ago and boy did it make a differents.
I been from south florida to MD, to MI and IL many times pulling a trailer.

We had a M998 do the same thing in Iraq in 2003. It turned out to be a bad lift pump.
Diesel fuel was leaking past the diaphragm and was being pushed through the vent system to the geared hubs / transfer case and then pushed out the air cleaner.
The M998 ran fine just took a few more...

Welcome to SS. Below you will see my M1028 pulling my M1023A2's. I trailered them from Michigan to South Florida at 65 mph(35 to 45 mph up the big hills in Kentucky) I didn't have any problems at all.
I have a gooseneck in the M1028 and I hauled a forklift that weight 14,000...
I'd start with the speedo cable first. Disconnect from back of speedo and pull the inner cable out. Clean , lube and reinstall . Drive and see if thats works.

I'm not sure, but back in the day (early 80's) when we had a bunch of 22 1/2 cranes at our unit. Each crane had a 50 foot slave cable with it. Came in handy when you couldn't get close because of the mud. We also had them for our 50,000 lb container handlers.

On the M1028A2, I went as high as $6,671.00. it sold for $6,821.00.
I had the next higher bid($6,971.00) typed in and I chicken out.:cry:
With not inspecting the truck + Taxes + 10% + Having to pay someone for pick-up, It was just to much.2cents

WoW, The M1028A2 dually that I was bidding on in VA went for $6,821.00.
I typed the next bid in but I just couldn't it the bid button.:cry:
