Haspin 2009: SS 10th Anniversary Rally June 10-14

Remind me to bring a broom and pressure washer for the pavilion, it's always a mess. Will this be year 5 then? 05, 06, 07, 08, and now 09...

    deuce frame reinforcement

Yep, my truck( M108 It's dirty alright, came to me that way). In the second pic it is showing the i-beam across the top of the springs, same as 5-ton wreckers. Has about 2-3 inches of travel in the spring, then hits the i-beam to keep from overloading the spring. Dennis

    winch/pto problems? help!

Maybe your winch lever isn't engaging all the way. Mine was stuck, had to wd-40 it where it goes in the winch and smack it with a hammer to free it up(be carefull, don't hit too hard!) Lever should move couple of inches at the end of the lever. Also there is a drag brake in the winch, to keep...

    deuce frame reinforcement

The deuce wreckers(and I think dumps, maybe tankers) Have a plate riveted to the side of the frame rail, from the spring hanger for the front axle, to the rear axle. Also have overload bars for the rear springs. There is a truss welded under the cab, to the bottom of the frame also.

    Quick thread on winches

Use mine a decent amount, no way was I going to have that big of a truck without a winch. So far used it a decent amount to unstick the deuce.(only once stuck when I didn't want to get stuck). Useful for other things, unsticking other vehicles mostly, or pulling trees down and around. Dennis

    M35A2 Instument Panel L.E.D Lighting

Just a note, the gauges are sealed, I think drilling in that location would allow water in if you were to get crazy on a fording trip. Looks really neat. Dennis

hhmv hydraulic winch on a deuce

Hydraulic is great for winching. Speed can vary by valving, or engine speed. No clutches or shifters(stock shifter is tricky to shift). No need for shear pins, can set the pressure/motor size to stall at the right torque. Can be set up with remotes, including wireless remotes. Much easier...

    looking for a tongue for a m1061 5Ton trailor

Hmm... your axle hubs are different, the one's I've seen are flush with the lugnuts, while yours stick out past them. Wonder if you have a M1073, the 7.5 ton trailer. Also have the round leveling jacks. Don't see a spare tire lift in the back. 2 instead of 4 lifting points on the back, and...

    spring re arching

The dueces I own have winches, and seem to ride pretty good. Springs aren't hard at all in the front, and can be bottomed out on a big bump.

    looking for a tongue for a m1061 5Ton trailor

Here's a thread on what was maddawg's, and is now mine. I also have a boatload of pics of a M1061A1 also. Some slight differences, bed sides are smooth on the E1, with tarp hooks underneath. A1 has a recessed side, with hooks on the side. Also noticed some have round leveling jacks, and some...

hhmv hydraulic winch on a deuce

He might be okay with the hummer hydraulic winch, since it's a bobbed truck. I would like to convert the stock deuce winch to hydraulic driven some day.

Haspin 2009: SS 10th Anniversary Rally June 10-14

Um, that's one of the roughest spots. Usually a way around the rougher areas, plenty of easy trails. Dennis

    Multifuel tank on gasser?

Got it done and running. Nice to have more than 5 gallons of fuel... Plugged the return line for the multi, and hooked the vent and pickup to the pump. Had to get some adapters, and plugs, not a bad job to do. The intake pump isn't hooked up, using the mechanical pump on the motor. Dennis

    Multifuel tank on gasser?

Can you install a multifuel tank on a gasser truck, and just leave the pump in place for a pickup tube? Started to clean out the gasser tank on the M108, and the back side and top is pinholed with rust. Do have two multifuel tanks sitting here, and the truck will need one eventually when it...

    She's Bobbed and looking good

Did you remove the offending angle iron on the bed, and still get 43 degrees? Can always move the rear crossmember foward a couple of inches. Last I knew, the dump wasn't powered yet, just the hinge is on. Dennis

Some history on the use of filtered motor oil in the Deuce???
