I'd jump on that 923A1 if it has the 8.3 and was in good shape is what I'm saying. The engine is much quieter and better fuel mileage. My preference of A2 is of course the CTIS and engine.. I think you should jump on the A1 with an A2 motor if it's in good working order. Not saying my 923 is a...
I'd look for the 8.3 turbo :) I much prefer the engine. I have a 923 and a 923A2, the A2 wins hands down. I think some documentation on what movies it was in would be pretty awesome to have. I bought an AR18 that Arnold Schwarzenegger reportedly used in Terminator, but haven't gotten any...
Just turn the CTIS off. I have a bad seal on one of my axles too, I still get enough air at high rpms to inflate the tires, but I'm getting the air out the breather too. Probably the outer seal, as that's the direction the air has to go to enter the axle. If it were the rear seal it would be...
I'm in the process of changing my oil cooler on my M923. It says to index the oil cooler with the mark on the housing(the marks on my housing seem to be just chisel marks, nothing from the manufacturing process. I cannot see what the reason would be, there is no matching tubes on the engine or...
Nice truck! Lucky guy, Of all the trucks I've won, Only my M35A3 had any real goodies. Did yours get a PTO in the rebuild? Do all your dash plate ID numbers match? Mine came with the controls and PTO from rebuild I presume. But I got the added "bonus" of having 3 different serial numbers, I have...
If you're referring to bleeding the air out of the tanks, it's supposed to be daily when done driving(the four valves on the right side)....Can't say I've followed that, all my trucks have small leaks, they pretty much have no air by the next day anyway.
Which 939A2 besides the wrecker do you have? At least yours does 60! I still can't figure out why mine won't shift into 5th. I find a broken wire connector to the condenser for the 5th gear lockup and thought oh yeah it can't be that easy! Sure enough it wasn't. :)
Like the others indicated it's a mode which cycles the CTIS more frequently and able to air up a completely flat tire when normal modes won't (without about 10psi in the tire).
Harbor freight has bigger socket sets ect reasonable. You'll need to invest in some tools. It's all Chinese made of course, I ended up bending a 3/4 or 1" socket wrench working on my deuce and a half changing torque rods and using a cheater bar. As to your CTIS, try holding down the run flat...
