Does anybody need any M101a2 parts?
I'm keeping the bed, tongue, and lights, and the springs are already spoken for, but have surge brake parts (shoes, drums, hardware) heck I can even bring the entire axle if somebody wants it!
I have two HMMWV wheels and tires.
One has about 30-45% tread, the other is about shot.
$150obo or trade for any of the items listed in my previous "WTB" post: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/922459-post111.html
Don't these have a 1:1 transmission?
If so, then I would say converting over to an overdrive transmission would be your best bet. NOT the cheapest admittedly, but the best.
I'm in the market for canvas, bows, and sides for an M101-series trailer (enough for two trailers).
Also looking for a rear bumper from either an M880 or an M1008, WITH the pintle hitch.
I'm in the process of building a "Poor Mans Cushman Airborne" that I might be willing to trade for or...
Forgot all about those "title loan" places. Don't think that's legal here in NC. Cross the border into SC however, and I know you'll see signs for 'em on every street corner.
I'm gonna be there! Don't have a big, cool miltruck at the present time, :( so I'm just bringing the old lady's van with a rental trailer, as I'm picking up an IHC Travelette cab that I'm buying from Wreckerman. I plan on leaving here Wednesday morning and departing the rally Sunday.
Which...
Many (all?) newer RVs are now equipped with slide outs.
Would it be possible to hang kitchen cabinets, bunks, etc to the outer walls on these units, or do you guys think that the expansion mechanisms would have a tendency to bind if too much weight was placed on them?
Not sure how exactly they did it. And it's been well over 20 years since I last laid eyes on one of those rigs. Never thought to get a picture of one either. :(
Oh man do these things got me ticked off! aua I was able to remove one of them by hand. One is busted off flush with the top of the bed, the rest won't even wiggle, let alone pull out. Tried using a slide hammer with a lag screw on the end, it just pulls right out of the wood. Tried...
I had been thinking the exact same thing!
Regarding the duals on the front...many years ago back up in Michigan, I lived close to a large "muck farm". This operation sported a fleet of older deuces equipped with duals in the front, and triples on the rears. The word "unstoppable" comes to mind.
The truck looks just fine Matt. Granted I see a few things done to it that I certainly would not have done, however it isn't my my name that's on the title.
I do plan to black out the grille and headlight bezels on my '61, however.
Why can't you just replace the OEM pintle hook with a pintle/ball combination?
Unbolt one, bolt the other in place...boom, done!
