What do you guys use to filter the oil? Is there a screen or anything of that nature? I just got access to 800g of WMO and want to be able to use it fairly easily.
I would just say paint her how it makes you happy and call it good. Sounds like it is already a pretty custome rig. If someone wants to buy it to make it original again, the least of their worries are going to be what color it is.
when I got mine I already had 2 triangles welded into the driver's side of the bed with a link of chain in between to secure them to. I saw this a couple of times with our deuces in the CAV.
I am running a 350 with a SM420 in my 67 FJ40 and 65 is not out of the question at all. I have 410 gearing in the pumpkins. I agree that is about as fast as you would ever want to take these old rigs.
Anyone comming from the east side? I was thinking of hitting kennewick on my was across the state to visit a army buddy and then go up HW 12. Really looks like I will be going on this one.
for the amount in a tranny I put 2 parts atf 1 part lucus. I do a tranny fluid change every 60k so it is prob a slightly higher amount now because of the residue oil in the torque converter. I change the PITA filter every other change.
I will deffinatly stick by lucus for now. The change in the van was really noticable when I dropped some in the tranny. I just did an engine oil change in the same van a weekend ago with oil without lucus added and it does sound a bit more noisey after the change. Only reason I didn't dump some...
For shipping I tend to use my friends with businesses and do the flat rate pallet loads for 50 bucks. Just need to find someone who has a truck, a dock, a forklift and a flat rate deal. We can do anything that will band to a pallet for 50. I have no idea about across borders though.
