Your probably just hitting to go pedal harder. However, the "C" does put out LESS cfm than the "D". This could theoretically cause more smoke. What color is the smoke?
Running the IP dry can damage the HH on the IP but that usually causes starting/running problems.
I am powder coating mine flat black. Powder coat can withstand high temperatures for long periods of time. Its also is incredibly durable. Also it isn't nearly as expensive as you might think.
What's interesting about my truck is the entire stack except the upper portion is pink. I don't know if that's normal or if maybe my fuel is hopped up already. I won't know that until I install a pyrometer. Regardless that aero turbine muffler has caught my attention. I want a strait through...
The Donaldson seems to be the most effective muffler....however I plan on turning my fuel up along with adding larger tires. My concern is the egt's getting too hot too fast with the Donaldson since it is not a strait thru design. I'm not really looking to make my truck quiet. I'm just trying...
Even without the lip worn in properly adjusted shoes are only a few thousands off the surface of the drum. Assuming there's nothing to hang on you would have to pull the hub/drum off perfectly strait to keep them from dragging on the shoes. Considering how heavy these things are, that's not...
My truck has the short air pak also. There is no oil port and I don't like the idea on removing the j-pipe. 2 reasons for this....#1 the threaded bushing that holds it in place is very, very tight. I don't know what they use to torque that thing but I bent my wrench attempting to remove it...
A few good places to try and find parts are Red River truck parts in Texarkana Texas, Kryptonite Kustumz in Shreveport LA, and Military Trucks Inc. In Dodge City Kansas. That's a really unfortunate thing to happen.
To do this correctly your going to need to pull each drum off and pull the rubber boot back on each side of each wheel cylinder. That's a good starting point. As gimp said move on from there.
One quick thing you can check is see if your vent line under the hood is belching brake fluid out...
Ditto. At toms suggestion I used 40wt non detergent motor oil in the tranny and transfer case. I can't say it was a night and day difference but it does seem to slip into gear a bit easier. Especially, at least in my case, first to reverse shifting goes a LOT smoother. Also that annoying...
Hey man, don't let DH get to you. Just keep in mind his job on this site is to attempt to enforce the rules. It is frustrating for me to read a post that has atrocious grammar and spelling. I can't imagine being a mod dealing with that. Having said that I believe DH went a bit far.
Have a...
To hone just get an engine cylinder hone available at any auto parts store. Generously lube the inside of the cylinder with a light oil. Chuck your hone up in a hand drill and insert it in the cylinder. Pull trigger and smoothly and steadily move your hone back and forth the full length of...
Which style do you have? Short or long? The rebuild kits do NOT interchange. The long kits are pretty easy to come by. The short ones are a little harder to find but they are out there. Also one other thing how deep is the pitting on the air end? Try honing it before you buy the rebuild...
If it isn't in the path of the piston then I would ignore it. Well I take that back....I would tape off around it and hit it with some of the rust treatment stuff that turns rust into a black primer. Can be found at most auto parts stores. This would be just to keep it from pitting further...
