Is this possibly the coolant heater motor?

Groban's got alot of cool stuff. There's a shaft driven Howden Vane-Axial Fan 10,300 CFM Blower@ 10.0" Psi @ 34 Brake Horsepower @ 6,000 RPM. Not sure how anyone would mount it on a truck, but if it were geared up and coupled to the engine as a mechanical supercharger, the thing would sound...

On Bypass oil filters - to get the small particles

I think I like a separate small-micron bypass filter better and a separate main filter. Is this a question about the filter having a bypass in it for when it gets clogged up? So I am confused about the question.

On Bypass oil filters - to get the small particles

I've found some better pumps than in the site with that oil pan picture (theirs is crappy), including some turbo scavenging gear-type ones. None of the good pumps are cheap and many have rather low temperature ratings. 24V/12V is not an issue for me, I have both in quantity, so maybe I have some...

On Bypass oil filters - to get the small particles

Thanks Bjorn! That should help out. Here's a pic of the kind of general attachment I wanted to do, either with the original drain plug as the "adapter" or otherwise. It's the setup on the right. Comes with 1/2" ID hose etc. The only thing is the company's pumps are 1.8GPM. enough to fill the...

    Rod bearings, failure mode

I think 1000RPM should not harm it if you had decent pressure of 30PSI or so. You have reported low oil pressure at idle and on road for a long time, could it be that the bearing is just gone and now there is nothing to do but fix the engine before something worse happens? Think of how much time...

That hollow bolt, might be good for a pre-oiler pickup too.. I just hope it is not the kind of thing that would pop out unexpectedly creating a problem that would require a duct tape patch.. In the same BBS, this little valve.. http://www.fumotousa.com/

    prc77

NOTE: PRC-77 manuals are hard to come by. That is the serious repair manual with schematics and explanations. It's what you need to fix the rig other than by swapping modules. If you are so inclined as to do component level repairs, you can get a PRC-77 repair manual from Robert Downs...

    PAR type lamps, headlamps, etc..

After finding two luminaires that take PAR36 lamps, and finding a 24V and a 36V lamps to fit, it got me interested in the different PAR-type lamps that might be useful for MVs. I ended up digging through a large pile of surplus lamps and found a pair of 150 watt 28V PAR46 lamps as well as a 60W...
