RE: Re: enclosing the genset
That is a good idea, but how to hinge it? I do not see how to swing it up, there's not much room, can you help me understand? In any case I posted the pictures so far here:

I have done a little more work since...
fits in the corner if you have a hardtop. The hook could be menacing I suppose, but it's way in the corner away from personnel.

short answer:
use diesel in your multifuel engine when the FDC is bypassed.
long answer:
Supposed to burn diesel according to the stickers on the Toole-rebuilt engine with FDC bypassed that says "diesel fuel only". That sticker came from the army after they did the work. Their work including...
de-splined or lockouts won't do any good for mileage on a sprag-type because the driveshaft and diff gears will still be turning and that is where the energy is used up. They will help with the 'wig-wag' of the steering when turning. I have been keeping my splined hubs in a box inthe truck just...
RE: Re: enclosing the genset
About the batteries, I want to put a small spin-on external oil filter where the genset battery tray is, and also, why have to deal with yet another battery? I don't think there should be a charging imbalance issue since if the generator charges only the one battery...
enclosing the genset
Got the beast mounted, plumbed, and powered up today. It starts using the truck's "lower" 12V battery and then recharges that battery. After a few stutters due to getting first-time fuel into it from the truck's tank through the new lines, it hums right along. I used 3/8"...
Could one hook up a bypass for the FDC, and have the FDC connected at the same time? Just putting a valve in the inlet to the FDC and in the bypass, so you could run straight, or run FDC if you wanted just by opening and closing a couple of valves?
probably no reason why that would not work...
no 'lectric brakes for me.heck, the brakes on the M105 do not work... in any case I have a pigtail that will plug into the back of the truck, and can adapt the 24V to 12V with a little box with a few electrical things inside.
RE: Class 4 receiver hitch
That's a very nice job! I have to admit is is more versatile than my box hitch. I know nothing about hitch classes, assuming 5/16" plate box attached with the pintle bolts and the pintle shaft bolt in the shot below, what class would this one be? I only pulled a...
