Nate:
Thanks for serving, I got back from 13 months over there in July 2006 and I am headed for Korea for my last deployment before I retire next year. Keep sending the pictures. I did not know about Steel Soldiers when I was there or I would have had a lot more pictures like yours. Keep safe...
RE: I
Great score, all Army guys should get a duece when they get near retirement. I hope it is like mine that starts better than anything else in the fleet gets good milage and is a ball to drive. I hope you get it home safely and have a great time getting it there.
Too bad we did not know about this at Aberdeen someone could have hauled my dolly down there for you. I am going to be using the M 52 to pull the M 127 so the dolly is going to be empty.
It is now home and I did not get any pictures of it coming home since we picked it up Friday night about 2100 and drove it through the night with my son and his girlfriend trailing in the chase vehicle. It drove very well at 55 MPH and aside from the same toxic fumes that Tactical Truck...
Thanks Clint that is good enough to put in a magazine. Not that my crane is the best by far but the load shown being picked up is above the limit of the crane and I was only picking it up high enough to get it on the M 200 so I could weld it to it and make the dolly. The crane lifted my 5KW...
PTO with Shaft and controls from TNJ Murrays in Delaware
I headed up to Murrays after talking to the 2nd generation owner at Aberdeen and he told me there were gasser 5 tons that were getting ready for the cutting torch so I should head up soon. The 200 mile round trip was worth it because I...
I bought one at Aberdeen and took it to my favorite and very reliable generator rebuild shop. The bearings were almost out and the regulator on the back was blown. They called me and told me that the parts are no longer available for them to fix it and if they could have in the past the...
I would not put one on, it is a level winder that keeps the wire spool evenly rewound on the spool. The wreckers use the winches more than anyone and the level wind is on the rear winch too for them. Since winching is a two person job on these trucks let your spotter tell you if the cable is...
Yup the wreckers had top level winders on them most 5 ton front winches are 20K units with a lower and two side rollers and the cable is fed under the bumper, see the 50 year old M52 thread for pics of mine. I love your truck and what you all did to it to keep it in the fire company.
God Bless you all for a great extended weekend in Aberdeen. I was so blessed to spend time with you all and my son Noah was really impressed by every Steel Soldier he met. I am especially grateful for the help Cabell and AMGeneral and others provided me when my oil filters started squirting...
I have to admit that the stuff works well especially if the surface is prepped well. If you are not able to get the rust busted with a wire brush on a grinder or sandblasted and money is not a big deal I have used and recommend Rustbullet, the stuff is amazing. It does cost $116 a gallon but...
RE: Kirkersville fuel/and meeting stop
I am glad to hear Mike is all right I was waiting for his phone call to help him set up the GP Medium I gave him at Jim Thorpe. If anyone needs anything close to Aberdeen I am only 25 miles south of there so I can run back for welding or other work. My...
RE: Re: RE: Strong Suggestion for Idled Trucks
Just caught a squirrel in my tool barn last night it was scurrying up into the rafters. Had them in there several years ago and put metal plates around the soffet so they could not chew into the barn. Guess I have to get the pellet gun out and go...
If these trucks were recent Guard turn ins like mine and it runs save yourself some dough and get to know the truck driving it home. I just donned my BDU's and drove it 300 miles to home almost five years ago. Bottom line is the duece is a very reliable vehicle and short of a major engine or...
You would want one too if you saw how easy my duece starts and how sweet it runs what it can carry or store under it's tarp how much fun it is to drive and the fact that it is the lowest milage vehicle in my fleet. All are signs that I will be passing it on to my kids cause I would rather move...
RE: Re: RE: New MadDawg M725 - now with more meat!
Mike if you have no need for the old 900 16's our pioneer trailer runs them and could use a spare or two. Looks very nice and having been on board cant wait to go for a ride even if you have to EVAC me. See you at Aberdeen
Paint over it Chris don't advertise for them with them cutting services by the bushel let them realise we are their bread and butter. Great news on how you got it going I cant wait to see it.
Needle Gun efforts
Took about three hours of needle gunning on the truck and then painted the cleaned area with Rusty Metal Primer since I am out of Rustbullet. I took mudflaps down to attach them but the rear of the tires stick out about three inches beyond the rear of the frame so I am...
