On some civilian pickups of this era some appeared to not have an ACC position. The key would simply not turn backwards. There was a small casting burr in the column housing for the key cylinder. With the cylinder removed you could remove the burr cleanly and then reinstall the cylinder and then...
I have had these symptoms on my gen 1 light for a while on my M1031. The other day when it was snowing I was running the wipers at full speed and the defroster on high as well. Then there was a definite burned smell and the gen 1 light stayed on all the time. I checked for voltage on wires to...

In OK we just wait till a warm day and use a car wash for a project like this! Then it can shoot you in the face because of the high pressure. I would recommend soaking your feet in some hot Epsom salts because of the nasty metal shards and crud. Happy drilling!
Instead of ever using ether put a little gasoline on a grease rag. Take the breather cover off and lay the rag on the outside of the air filter and put the cover back on. Now try to start after the wait light goes out. The vapor from the gas on the rag is just enough to help start the engine...
One of your problems could be the battery terminal in picture #2. These are notorious for bad connections. I would only use one of these in an emergency and then put the correct cable on as soon as I could. It looks like yours has been arcing from cable to clamp area. It complicates the problem...
I would only buy 100% gas for long term storage. It should cost about 20 cents more a gallon but it's worth it. E10 has a shelf life of about 90 days after it's blended before it starts to separate. I do not recommend putting E10 in anything that sets any amount of time. Be good to your engines!
It is a good idea to fully fill any oil filter before installing on these engines, but it is especially important to fill the "2 quart" filter to prevent dry starts!
Big block engines in Chevy and GMC medium duty trucks came out factory with this filter a long time ago. I have never seen any problem with the spin on adapter. This long filter actually adds 1 quart capacity above a standard filter. The increased filtration media is as big a plus as the...
I have a pyrometer on a John Deere 4 wheel drive tractor rated at 235 drawbar HP. Engine HP is 275. This is a 6 cylinder turbo with inner cooler Under normal load it runs about 900 degrees. I am told to not pull it hard enough to reach 1000 degrees. Above 1000
degrees metal goes to doing funny...
