Dielectric grease can be one of your best friends on any electric connection. Makes plugging and unplugging a lot easier as well as making a better connection that will not corrode!
Heck, I have a nice original M1009 from Ft. Sill that would be a bargain for $14,995 compared to a modified one. I could probably find you some ocean front property in OK to go with it!
The m1009 has a real short rear driveshaft to start with. If this ride has always had this vibration the rear end yoke angle may not be matching the rear of the transfer case yoke angle. A transfer case mount or the rear springs could be causing a problem with this. Sometimes the correct shim...
I had the same thing happen on a tractor one day with two 12 volt batteries in parallel. I turn the key to start and one battery exploded very loudly. Never did know what the cause was. I washed tractor real good with water and then sprayed liberally with a multi purpose spray lube to kill the acid.
I would highly recommend Mystik JT7 gear oil. It stands up to heat really well and still performs like it should. Better than most Mil Spec Mil-PRF-2105E lubricants. It will last twice as long in a tractor rearend without the heat breaking it down and it lubricates better all the time.
