To help troubleshoot vacuum issues I keep a cheap vac/boost gauge in my tool box,Sunpro cp8203 at Summit 8$,after replacing rubber hoses it helped narrow things down.On my first 1009 it needed a new pump, regulator and modulator. On my second 1009 the gauge helped me narrow things down to just the...

    roscommon conversion Question

It sure would be be nice to see a charging diagram for how this works.Like the ones in the stickies for the factory setup. My brain gets very small when it comes to electrical.Looking at the diagrams for the original set-up I can almost see how the conversion works it but Im missing something.

    Terminus M1009

IMO they should have come from gm with 2 1/2 pipes, with all the compression these motors have they like to breathe, and if you can add a H-pipe or X pipe you can pick up a bit more torque.

You are correct on batt. draw, thats why a lot of guys who have done bypass have 12v alt belt noise at initial start-up.Since doing my second bypass on my second 1009,I keep a close eye on my front batt.

    Lmc truck exhaust kit

My local shop also didn't want to work on my 1009s til I showed him the emissions exempt sticker under the hood. Then he said we can do anything you want.My 1st 1009 had 2 1/4" glasspacks and sounded like motorboat.I had those swapped out for 2 3" moroso spiral flows better but very loud at...

No Start After Fuel Filter Replacement

Thanks for the update and fix, alot of us newer guys figure if its turning over it will start, but no it really has to be spinning to start well.I battled lots of problems with my first 1009 with hard starting til I finally bought a volt meter.I just figured I had 2 new redtop optimas so they were...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

No need to thank me,thank joshuak for digging it up and Albin the orig.poster.Cucvlover filter 3426 might be a more to your liking.Compare measurements and thread count and microns to determine which will work best for you.

Cucv spin on fuel filter question.

You could eliminate that small filter with a barb to bard coupler from Fastenal, lowes or home depot.

Go to page 242 and check out post #2417,its really helpful for choosing a fuel filter.I think the orig.box styles were either 5 or 10 microns.I think 10 but not sure anymore. The guy behind the counter doesn't care about your truck, but we do.

Nice job but I would go with a smaller micron filter than 16,especially if driving to Alaska.(that's also a dream of mine.)
