I run a wix 24770 head,has 2 inputs 2 outlets at 1/2 npt,then added a 1/2" npt to 1/8 npt reducer,then a Mr Gasket #1561 fuel press. gauge.Has worked out well.
I use a different filter head, its wix #24770,so it has a different thread count for filter. It also has 2 inputs and 2 outlets so its easy to add a fuel pressure gauge to the system, which is nice when trouble shooting,I then run a wix 33005 filter.Which is a 1" with 14 thread pitch.
Not to nick-pick but that filter is a 12 micron filter, the factory box filter is 10 micron,I have a 3 micron wix filter on my 1009s.You may want a smaller micron filter especially if you still have fact. tank, pickup and sock filter.Modern diesel seems to be much cleaner nowadays but our...
Its a 12v gauge supplied with 24v,hence the resistor on back of gauge to reduce to 12v,that way both batts.are still monitored. If you replace with a 24v gauge you will be good.
Thankyou all for the above info.I have 2 1009s both with resistors bypassed and push button only GPs.I do have an understanding of GP system, just thought a light letting you know GP setup was working properly was kind of neat idea.I realize I should not have brought up such an old thread.
Both my 1009s have had ballast resistor removed and are manual push button GPs only,Im not the sharpest knife in the drawer, how would I wire in an activation light?
I would add a fuel pressure gauge,it would give you an idea where to start.Spectre perf.#59013 is really cheap or Mr gasket#1560 is much better. If you have 4-8 lbs pressure going into filter you know your sock filter, fuel lines and lift pump are good. That would narrow things down to the filter...
