what engine rpms were the peak numbers at?
have him map engine rpm and roller speed on the same graph - they won't be linear because of torque converter slip. torque converters multiply torque.
this was not properly accounted for, given the resulting numbers.
with that girl (and alleged truck) in the photos, i can't believe some of you all are still talking about the flag. the OP already stated his beliefs and the idea behind it - he's showing off all the things he loves. some slack would be nice.
the level of curmudgeon-ness around here is...
not sure where you read "400ft-lbs" at? everything i've seen on here is ~330ft-lbs, and that's been pure speculation. regardless, i concur with you that it is the weak link due to several different design issues and has shown only marginal reliability behind stock-fueled MF's (135-ish hp /...
anything other than the OEM winch drive PTO, it's difficult to find a PTO that bolts to the spicer trans. without knowing more about which trans the 3053 is similar to, it may be impossible to select a compatible PTO from someone like muncie.
otherwise, using the winch PTO to run a hyd pump...
the spicer is an SAE bolt pattern - no.3? now i can't remember...
anyway, yes - you can mate to the spicer with an SAE engine adapter. what i don't know is if the medium duty 7.3's use an engine adapter or if the SAE is cast apart of the block. if it's an adapter, International school buses...
you need to do some measuring to determine what you'll be getting into. you've got 42" from the firewall to the headlight supports. if your radiator is wider than 35", then it won't fit between the headlights and you'll only have 37" from the firewall to work with, or you'll have to move the...
i agree and never said it was a performance enhancement - not arguing this, because you are completely correct. that's why i said i like the looks of duals, as that is all it is - a 'look'. it's also kinda like some of the dodge crowd that believe a 5.9 Cummins can even make use of a 5" diameter...
of course, this is how every OTR truck with duals is running them.
OP-
i am on the fence and i have considered duals or a single stack behind the cab - neither for sound control, but for getting the exhaust out of my fender well. i like the looks of duals, but just like Lonesome' said...
level-wind winch without visible cable - wonder if the winch is hooked up?
also, something looks odd about that bed...
price doesn't look bad. you just need to drive it and look it over to see how much more work is involved. from there, you have to decide what it's 'worth'. ~$6k seems to...
based on gringeltaube's testing, i disagree with this statement about fitment being a large issue. his tests showed that a 9/32" pin sheared at similar forces in the stock size hole or one that was 'wallered out' or drilled out to 5/16".
his testing also gives us the ability to calculate the...
again, that would be pretty sweet, but you'll need to do a lot of wiring to get them both running. they make stand-alone engine harneses for the d-max yet? they likely do...
i think you may also be pretty tight up to the transfer case if you plan on keeping the d-max intercooled. the...
almost impossible to say. my baseline hi-temp (stock fuel setting) was about 1000°F max.
this can vary. many folks on here believe that the instant you exceed 1200°F you will toast your engine. this is not true. 1250° is the 'accepted' max EGT range for continuous operation. again -...
