everything in the system has a top speed of about 55 mph. as far as heavy trucks, only the HET and PLS have planetary axles in the 140k#+ GVWR range. FMTVs have a gear-drive hub but at a far-less GVWR.
yep.
but you may also notice that no one references the 'flow rating' elsewhere in the discussion. this is because it is a theoretical calculation from an unknown injection pump and delivery valve combination running unknown injection event parameters. put the same injectors on two different...
any decent injector shop can pop-test. it's not super-rare or anything. pop-testing is just measuring the pressure that the injector seat lifts at, as measured in 'bar'. this is adjustable.
and there is no such thing as a 'flow-rated injector' - an injector does not measure fuel for...
yes, the M1000 trailer is AWS and adjustable ride height (w/ on-board APU), but it seemed to me that the OP is asking about an AWS / AWD tractor, which the current inventory does not have.
in all honesty, you're barking up the wrong tree.
first of all, for what you want doesn't exist in the military inventory. there is nothing AWS.
secondly, what does exist is marginal, to say the least. case in point: even if you could get an M1070 (which you can't), do you really believe...
shocks will not cure wheel-hop. a majority of wheel hop can be attributed to the amount of slop between two double-reduction axles.
wheel hop will lead to broken axle shafts.
not quite - you can't run the 8.3 rotating assembly to near the rpm's that you can run the 5.9. do not try this.
however, other basic fueling mods from the 5.9 can be applied.
without turning the fuel up, it's so under-powered it's down-right dangerous. since, it's much better and on the verge of being driveable. on the flats she'll do 60-65, and that's about as fast as i would like to have her. oddly enough, the large tires put 1st gear right at a perfect range...
the engine and trans is mechanically operated, not computer controlled.
the Cat can still outrun the LDT w/ a punctured IC. the trans cooler is a good point.
so besides high costs for parts, some sort of potential damage to a trans cooler, and ill-conceived notions that the LDT is any sort...
i don't understand the 'maintenance' comments in favor of the A2 over A3. can someone elaborate how the A2 maintenance is easier, cheaper, less frequent, less intensive, etc. ?
