Which pyro and sensor to use

In most gauges you can swap out the 12v bulb with a 24v one real easy. Or do like I did, wire your boost gauge light and your pyro light in series.

    Tennessee Members, sign in.

I've though about trying to put something together at Wheeling in the Country. I've been there a couple of times and even talked to the owner about having a rally there. He was really open to the idea and would accommodate us any way he can. It's been a year or so since I've talked to him but if...

    M923....Should I do it?

Hey WM, I guess it's been a while since you rolled around that 5-ton brake drum. Must have forgotten how heavy it was. :-D I've got both. I can't really say one is better than the other. The deuce has become more my "play toy" but when it's time for real work I use my M939.

    Deuce Shifting Questions

I wish I was closer so I could take a look at the truck and your driving. I'm still trying to figure out if the truck has a problem or you're not driving it right. I tend to think it may be a combination of both. You still haven't answered the question about your manual trans experience before...

just a thought on air ride suspension

Hendrickson does make a air ride based on their old "walking beam" type suspension. It gives you the articulation similar to the stock setup but the better ride air offers. It's pretty pricy though.

    Engine in a Can

I seem to remember him dragging it around quite a bit also after he dumped it out.

How to make a replacement "Axle Switch" Hose

Well we are in the deuce mod forum so I'd assume we are dealing with a deuce. There are no air lines going to the axle on a deuce. I think he's talking about the line that goes from the air switch to the transfer case. You are correct about using rubber hose going to the axle (where there is...

    M923 Front Axle Engagement

It would probably make the low range reverse issue worse because all the power is directed to the rear wheels. I've used low range reverse many times but I'm careful with it.

    M923 Front Axle Engagement

:ditto: I'd just leave it the way it is. I've thought about disabling the auto low range 6X6 on my M936. I'd rather have control of when the front end engages.

Clutch slipping, can it be adjusted?

Usually a leaking rear main won't get oil on the clutch with the fording hole open. If you've got a oily clutch it's more than likely from the trans.

just a thought on air ride suspension

Some of the newer civilian trucks are coming out with front air ride. The system they use are quite a bid different from the rear. Just keep in mind if you go rear air ride on a tandem deuce, you suspension travel will be far less than stock.

cleaning out transfer case with diesel ?

I'm not so sure I'd run it with the diesel in there. Maybe wait on somebody to comment that knows more about the t-case than I do.

cleaning out transfer case with diesel ?

Flushing it with diesel won't hurt a thing.

How to make a replacement "Axle Switch" Hose

Personally, I'd just use plastic DOT air line. It's easy to work with and DOT approved for vehicle air systems.

    Hydro-Pneumatic Bed Crane

You could be right if there is some sort of valving to control the oil. I still tend to think it would be kind of erratic while in motion. It will still beat heaving stuff up into the bed by hand though. ;-)

    Hydro-Pneumatic Bed Crane

That's what I'm thinking. At first I thought it worked like an air jack (air motor running a hyd pump) but it looks as this one just pressurizes a oil tank that forces oil to move the cylinder. I can't watch the vid (says I need some sort of plug in) so maybe that would give a better idea of how...

    Common Rain Leaks?

I'm pretty sure these things leaked a little right off the assembly line. They just aren't built that tight. Best thing to do to prevent leaks is do what I did. Build a shed to park it under. :)

    Airbags?

I really depends on how responsible the 16 year old is. I was driving dump trucks at 14 (I know, illegally but I survived). On the other hand, I know 30 year old people that have no business behind the wheel of a golf cart.

    New(to me) tools

The heck with a replica! I've got some plans around here somewhere for a real M2 (semi-auto of course).

    New(to me) tools

If you don't know how to build a phase converter out of a old 3-phase motor let me know. Just cross chain around the base. You can mess it up chaining around the head or something. That's how we haul them and haven't had a problem. We aren't in the habit of laying trucks on their side though...
