You are right the top is a home made top, but, that is VERY commom on the M715 trucks. The M715 trucks cab top bows made it very easy to sheet metal over them. I have seen alot of M715s with very well made metal tops like the one that is on this truck.
KsM715 you did good on the truck, good...
The two dealers I saw at a DRMO sell who were talking to each other about not bidding against each other to keep the bid low (bidding collusion) were cought. They were both banned from the sells for several months.

I can see that, but, I have 5 deuces....plus a half track, 1941 WC-1 Dodge, 3 WWII Internationals, the WWII jeep, I really do not need another truck. The plan of battle here is to "thin The herd" down to just two Deuces. I want to make one truck my main user truck, by putting all the extra stuff...
I see that Inter Agency Motor Pool will be making the power steering kits again. The kit is called the Air-O-Matic. Has any one put one on there truck? if so, is it worth the $1800 price tag? any comments on it?
Thanks!

You need to go to church this Sunday and put a little "extra" in the plate. The Angel that was watching over you might have been on over time.
Back in the mid 90s, at Camp Lejuene, we had a Marine killed and his co driver was badly injured when the 5 ton hood of there truck flipped back on them...
emmado22 is 100% on with his answer about DRMO hours.
Very lucky here, GL has there own warehouse, so when it goes up for bid, it is in there ware house and not DRMOs. Also, on that note, the DRMO here and GL watch the lot. One day, I walked over to look at a couple of trucks that had not been...
I sent in for 3 SF97s last month, got them back in about 2 weeks......yes, my credit card was charged $187.88.
I do not understand the extra $7.88? are they adding on a tax to the service?

The military had a jeep ambulance that was made during the M38A1 years, it was called a M170.
The jeep that is pictured is a CJ6. Not a bunch of them were made. That were great little work jeeps with the longer bed. I have seen about 6 in my life.
The most famous CJ6 in the world, was the one...
Yes, there are better axles out there today.
Funny part about your post. I see you are from Virginia. Back in the 80s, I went to a friends surplus yard here in North Carolina. There were several M715s, turn over on there sides, with no axles on them. They were all in very good shape, were...
I have had several M715s, they are good trucks, but the down side of them was:
1. poor motor
2. poor cab design (very prone to rusting out, and weak)
3. poor visiblty over the BIG hood (the hood area covers two time zones!)
4. poor turning
The good side,
1. the were GREAT trucks with an engine...
RE: M151 tire size
I have some tires mounted on rims off the Marines "super jeeps", they were 750:16.
The super jeeps were M151 that the Marines fixed up as fast attack jeeps, loaded with firepower and lots of ammo. They put bigger tires on them, but the neat part was, the ones I saw looked...
We had them in Crash Crew. They were also the last of the CUCVs that we had. The reasons we held on to them is at the time we had no replacement. This week end I will look to see if I have any manauls for it.
Sad part is, the fire fighting unit that went in the bed was always pulled off and sold...
The bayonets should be no problem, just takes time, they make you sign in at the gate to DRMO.....how fast the lady tells who ever she is talking to on the phone at that moment, is how fast you can get into the gate. The GL guys at Cherry Point are great, that part is fast.
