    EUC cleared, picking up M1009

Good looking 1009. Still waiting for my EUC. I hope mine runs that well since I'll be driving it about 900 miles home.

If you bother reading my earlier post I also said it's if it's his truck he can do what ever he wants with it and it's his business. Having said that, there are way to many "hobbiests" who don't give a rat's rear what they cut up because it's "just this" or "just that" and there's "tons of...

Just like all of those Chevy Cameos were just pickups with some whacky fiberglass bed side panels.

There's quite a few broke dick 1008s coming up on GL right now. Surf around a little and you might be able to find one and have a local SS member pick it up and send your parts and keep the rest for themselves.

I think many would consider taking the axles and engine out of it would be "chopping it up". Not much you can do with an engineless, axleless body at that point. But as has been said, it's your's to do with as you will.

Added a few upgrades to M35A2C

Looks nice. I'm bidding on an A2C tomorrow so I'll keep those upgrades in mind. Can't imagine this winter in North Bend. I'm sure happy to be in TX instead of Yakima.

    My first CUCV M1009

Preferably something with tracks like a snowmobile. The snows gonna be deep so you either want lots of ground clearance or be able to scoot across the top of it (all of the above is sarcasm).

    My first CUCV M1009

Okay, think of the middle of nowhere then Salmon is about 100 miles further out:grin: You're going to be out in the Frank Church Wilderness area (well, just outside of it) and it's some of the most beautiful country anywhere. Problem is, it stayed that way because no one wanted to drive that...

Some history on the use of filtered motor oil in the Deuce???

What do you use to filter the UMO? I'm looking into getting a deuce and had seen an earlier post talking about it and was curious. What type of ratio of UMO to unleaded do you use?

    My first CUCV M1009

Okay, the next question is where in ID? South ID is high mountain desert and north ID is Alpine forests. Both great areas in and of themselves but totally different trail ride country.

    HEMTT Destruction

Hate to see it happen but I was surfing GL and saw a stack of HEMTT cabs on one lot and a bunch of beds on the other. The listing has "mutilation required" so that will be the end of that.

    Recovering Sarge's M49C

Rory tell Sarge he needs to finish a few of those other projects before he takes on new ones. If he's going to keep dragging home these whales he's going to need one big a**ed paint booth in that new shop.

When I called yesterday about previewing the next lot of trucks they said to talk to Rod.

PM me if you need help in town. I'm no deuce mechanic but I can play taxi driver and give you a place to crash if needed.

    Reasonable? Realistic? or not?

I sure would have asked for my money back from the "professional" restoration outfit. I think I could tape off a data plate blindfolded better than that.

    M1009 Top Speed/MPG Question

I'm still waiting for the EUC to clear on mine so I don't really have any practical experience but have been told to expect around 20mpg and 60-65mph would be fine. The 1009 is geared much better for hiway speeds than the 1008. I've had more than one person tell me the 1009 is the best road...

    M37 Driveability

With 5.83 (sorry for being off 5/100ths) gears your top speed is going to run about 45mph so if you want hiway speeds you're going to need to change those out. Depending on the year it may come with turn signals then again it may not. The wiring is fairly easy to work on so if you're...
