Spring 2011 Rausch Creek MV Rally

No, that 5-ton with the dual custom stacks was owned by MidnightDuramax, and he didn't come this time. He was at April 2010 rally, at MTA2010, and Aberdeen 2010 as well. That was the last time I saw that truck.

    Trailer ID help neded

Almost looks like a warehouse trailer with a goofy body put on it. Is that an ice cream sales body? Is there a lot of 56 clowns that come with it that will fall out of the trailer after you pick it up?

Spring 2011 Rausch Creek MV Rally

Got back at 12:30, smooth 3 hour drive and sunshine all the way back. I'll tell ya, for those who don't camp anywhere, a hot shower is heaven on Earth after 2 days in the dirt. Once again had a great time, it amazes me the fantastic Steel Soldiers I meet at these rallies, these are some of the...

Spring 2011 Rausch Creek MV Rally

My schedule has changed a bit due to the need to work a little in the morning here. Since $$$ is tight almost down to the point of counting individual dollars, I will need to postpone my trip to RC until Friday evening through Sunday morning. I have to get out into the sticks to clear my mind...

    Looking for a M416

P.S. The last one I bought at auction from the government was in 1998 and it was so rusted up it wouldn't even ROLL. The last one I saw at a GL site was last June in Fort Bragg, there were one or two, and they were Swiss cheese for the floors. Very rusty.

    Looking for a M416

Most were auctioned off in the 1980s and 1990s. The last decade most of what I have seen come out of GL in terms of M416s were rusted and dented very badly. What is left are being literally dragged out of the woods and behind sheds of distant bases. You will find getting one from GSA a bit...

    New-to-me XM474E2

There was a restored version of that on armyjeeps.net a few years back. Here's the pic. Very cool! There can't be more than a few of those surviving, they were used for hauling missiles for the most part. Love to see pics of the resto!

i found this 1944 White White Brockway.

Holy dead thread revival Batman! This was from over 2 years ago, he has either saved it by now, or it's been melted down into Chinese toasters.

    Military Locomotives WWII to present

Did the military ever use the round-nosed GE E- and F- units that were very popular in the commercial sector? I have seen pictures of locomotives in military service that were GP units, square and flat nosed, and also switchers of different types, but no E and F units..

    Military Locomotives WWII to present

Was hoping Ferro or someone else here who works on the HEAVY iron, the diesel-electric locomotives, might know about the history and types of diesel electrics that have been used by the military on the rails since WWII. Info and pictures for all to see, please. Lots of neat rail-riders they...

    Chinese military radios

I have a friend who has a few Chinese radios, not this type but the backpack ones. They aren't built for the rigors of combat (well, not to the standards that WE set, for sure), but they are okay radios for hams, playing around with on the air. They drift a little from what I hear, typical...

Guess who is coming to dinner?

I am the only one in my party, no kids, and the type of food doesn't matter. I'd be happy to chip in $10 or so, and be glad to help set up. And if any Wounded Warriors are to show up, I'd buy them a drink on me. And I have a portable seat for me, it's called my a s s.
