Try the data plate on the dash , heres 2 pics , 1st is a M817 , but the dump body looks somewhat like that , and the 2nd is a toy M59 Dump

A new tranny is cheap compared to other things , offer 1500 and work your way up to 4 or 5K if need be (sight unseen)

Im guessing the county put the dump hoist etc on the M35A2 . There were Duece dump trucks but they arent the M35. Pictures of it would help the guru's tell you. The crate motor in can for it is worth (im guessing from what ive seen) 1500 to 2K.
