Any M36A2s in Texas for sale?

I like them too, especially if your going to put it to work hauling hay or something. Anybody know what the military predominently used them for? They sure look disproportionatly long. Greg

Late Model USAF Contract M35A2C Spotters Guide

Who made the engines for these trucks? Were they all made by White or were there Hercules and Continental in them too? I was wondering if there was a way to know if it was the original engine, so you could tell if it was swapped out. Thanks, Greg

    overcharging batterys

If I had new batterys I would put them on the charger before they would be installed but if I leave my lights on and run my battery down, I'll give it a jump. Thats what I did to the deuce, I used jumper cables. I expect the military would use slave cables. Its not good for a battery to be run...

    overcharging batterys

Bjorn, My batterys were totally dead when I got it. I jumped the truck and never turned it off again for 8 hours. When I got home, I left it in my driveway running while I made room for it and disconnected the M1009 it was towing. When I got back into the cab I noticed a faint smell of sulfer...

    overcharging batterys

Ran my new Deuce about 4-5 hours yesterday and when I got home the optima batterys blew a cloud of sulfuric gas up into the cab. I heard this pop and hiss and saw this cloud. I was lucky I wasn't on the hiway when it happened cause you can't breath only gag and cough. What do you guys think? Bad...

    M1008 stalling after 2 or 3 seconds

Thanks Guys, It sounds very likely I do have a pinch. The trouble is I cant remove the bed so I think I will try to pull my steel lines back far enough so my rubber lines connect on the inside of the frame so I can connect them with the tank in place. I wonder how hard it is to jack up the bed...

    M1008 stalling after 2 or 3 seconds

A pinch in the return line is a possibly, because I couldn't touch the top of the tank to connect the lines so I put longer ones in. Is there a way to check this at the IP without dropping the tank? I may just drop the tank anyway but its got 10 gallons of fuel in it now, so it's more fun...

    M1008 stalling after 2 or 3 seconds

I am using the bleed on top of the filter. Seeing a good flow of fuel there made me think the pump was working well and didn't have any kinks in the line from there back to the tank. It acts like its not getting enough fuel. It does run smooth for about 2 seconds before it starts missing and...

    M1008 stalling after 2 or 3 seconds

I bought a M1008 with the fuel tank already removed because of a hole. I replaced the tank today and tried to start the engine for the 1st time. It runs only a few seconds then dies. I first thought that air was the problem, I bled the fuel filter and plenty of fuel flows out the drain while...

    HMMWV turbo question

There is the Banks sidewinder turbo that some have put in their CUCV's. I bought one this weekend in a wrecked Suburban, they are built specifically for the 6.2 engine.

m1008 winch mount and paintjob pics.

I've been putting marvel mystery oil and sometimes diesel clean with cetane boost in my tank. I've read from others here that the cetane boost makes the mpg go down. Thats not Power Service advertises. I need to check my mpg. Is this something specific with the 6.2? What is the consenses on...

    GL reselling trucks

I see it as emmado22 does. This is the nature of the online auction.

    GL reselling trucks

I agree, it stinks that people bid up the price just to screw us but thats a lawsuit that I can't see being won by us. I'm sure people just re-register with a new email too and bid some more. I once was bidding on a LDS multifuel but got outbid on GSA. I got a call over a month later from GSA...

    towing an M1009

I have towed mine twice with my deuce in the last week. They tow nicely. Like mentioned above drop the rear driveshsft and have your front hubs free. I just disconnect the driveshaft at the diff and tie it up between the mufflers. Long tie stays work great. If you remove it completely you will...

1944 Jeep and trailer sold on ebay for $39,100

I would be very skeptical that anyone actually bid that high. As far as an appraisal by ebay, I don't think it means much because you can bid on your own auction. Wouldn't doubt it happened here.

Driving my M35 home from GL... Susanville CA thru Bend, OR

Thanks Chuck. I was happy it drove so nice, felt a little vulnerable out in the middle of nowhere. If I had a serious breakdown I'd still be there. I doubt I'll buy anything that far away next time. Greg

Driving my M35 home from GL... Susanville CA thru Bend, OR

Happy to report a sucessful recovery. Weather was great with temps in the 60's at the beginning but snow and freezing as I came up through central Oregon. Man was that cold with no passenger window. Had wind gusts to 50mph so I couldn't keep the plastic on it. The Deuce ran perfect. It had a...

Driving my M35 home from GL... Susanville CA thru Bend, OR

Thanks guys for the encouragement. I plan on going down 4/13 and comming back on the 14th. I won't have the entire 700 mile trip back home because I'm planning to leave the truck in Crooked River Ranch at my daughters place. They will put it to good use for the summer. Dan, I will have some...
