Greased the whole front end. Very happy everything is tight. Put a coat of flat black on the rims too. I am borrowing both rims and tires off my civy truck until I get around to balancing the humvee tires that came on it. They rode horribly!
That is very true. Just too many hands on it with nothing in it. When I was a driver in regular Army, active duty, I spent an hour or more cleaning my 5 ton after any day it got used. It got pretty dirty on them dirt roads in Wielflecken and Hohenfels. I had other soldiers tell me, "that's why I...
Well, finally remembered to take note, and a pic, of these lights at dark to see if they might be dimmer. They look like the exact same brightness. Amazing my feeble mind thought to wire them this way. Sometimes I amaze myself.
Also pressure washed her completely today.
Changed oil with Rotella today and put a Napa Gold filter on it. Why is the old oil such a nasty black. My 5 ton had pretty clean oil in it when I got it (changed it anyway) and this oil in the CUCV was nasty black when I got it and the PO said he just changed it. It was black already today...
No hanger/carrier bearing on this unit. Probably because such short wheel base. The leak isn't so bad, as I had plenty class 1 leaks on the 800 series dump I had when serving and didn't ever get most replaced while I was there. However, as silverstate55 mentioned, the sitting these units did...

Got my rear shocks installed. Front ones seemed alright. I just happened to have a brand new set of Rough Country N2.0s that came with a 2" lifted front spring kit I bought for a civy Chevy a couple years ago and never changed rear shocks. Very smooth removal with the motor pool using lube on...
Ok. I see. Thank you for the info and pictures as well. Nice to know model number too. Did you just get that truck on a Govplanet auction? I saw a real sharp unit went a few months back and it was white and in GA.
Mine wasn't starting first attempt at 50 degrees before I tore into my truck. Only two of them were bad when I took the glow plugs out of mine. It needs all 8 in working order and it will start first attempt at 15 degrees! (I will know lower temps as they come but it's only been as low as 15...
