If you put your actual location you might find out there's someone in your neck of the woods that just might physically come to help. Or at least try my hardest to talk you into selling me one of those two trucks!
I just recently changed my glow plugs for the same reason. Started nicely with warm weather and only one cycle of the GP light, or the occasional two. As fall crept in the cycle count needed to get it to start went up. I put new GPs in and messed them up with my inexperience, but once I was...
I love that brush guard. I wouldn't remove that! It is a statement. That radiator cover is sweet too. So cool you kept the bowtie showing. The General would appreciate that! I myself was always proud to drive a GM truck, but these Cucvees really are a machine to be proud to drive! It's like the...
Finally tightened my belts. Will be picking up a set of new ones soon. They were kind of loose and squaling on GP use and some recently with headlights and heater on high.
Finally installed my rear center three-light cluster (whatever it's proper name is). Picked it up at the GA rally. It was green, but now it matches my truck. It also has 12v lights that were wired in parallel, keeping it at 12v. I rewired it in series so now the combo can handle 36v but I will...
Very nice looking truck! Congratulations. I would also like to get a M923A2 for some mud wheeling. I get some mudding in the 929 doing on site work, but have to be gentle as she is a source of income.
That brings up another forgotten fact. The wire that goes to that on mine looks as if it had gotten really hot/short circuited. It had some bare copper showing but I routed it in a way to be impossible to touch ground. I only saw one prong on the srnsor though.
Tested my ether start system today. Had wondered if it was gonna work ever since I got the truck in April. 15 deg f here this morning. I apparently had two very good batteries out of the four, as I am only using them two and the starter zipped. I tried it first with no ether and it definitely...
It was 14.5°F here this morning at sunrise. I went out to test the GPs and it started the same as when it was 35°F. Only thing is, as I was about to walk away from it, she stalled. Then I restarted it the same way (that I have recently been taught), and it started fine but needed a little...
I got my glow plug situation fixed. Kept it all stock and used Delco 60Gs and crimped new 1/4" blade terminals on the GP wires. Three were stuck and needed broken off and fished out of the injector hole. Used a vacuum with a small tip to suck out any little pieces I may have not seen. So it was...
Well, great news. Put glow plugs and injectors in and new 1/4" blade plugs on. Hooked everything back to stock on the relay, plugged the module card in and turned the key to on, waited for the wait light to go out and then hit the starter and she fired right up! About ten seconds passed with the...
