Gimpy, That's what I was thinking also but that doesn't explain that "it doesn't stay in 5th". I guess he could mean that the clutch slips in 5th. Trans overfill would explain that if the clutch is slipping in 5th.
The lower end could very well be ok. The knock is more than likely coming from a piston or wrist pin. Heads could be toast.
I'd say the engine could be salvageable with new heads and a piston and sleeve kit.
All the power bleeder does is it allows one person to bleed the brakes (you don't need soldier B to pump and hold the brake pedal) and it insures you don't pump the MC dry. It is possible to bleed the brakes without fluid in the sprayer but you're going to have to keep tabs on the MC fluid level...
IMO, air is better than nothing but a hyd system can be had for the same cost or less and work much better.
The plus of the air system is ease of installation. The down side is cost of the setup and they don't work as good as hyd.
The only down side to hyd is all the setups I've seen require...
The trailers are designed for the tongue to hinge but it's not to dump. They are designed to unbolt the rear of the tongue, fold the tongue up, and use the back of the tongue for a stand. You can transport several more trailer on a load doing this. As you said, I wonder if they didn't do away...
I've seen several multifuels turned to the max running the stock clutch without problems. I tend to think something's got to be going on other than the clutch. The button type clutch (the pic gimpy posted) is a stronger clutch than the standard disc type.
Are you sure you don't have the truck...
PB does make some good points. I've always thought the management was understaffed on a forum this size.
It might work better for the admin to just take orders from Chris and fix the site the way Chris wants it. IMO it's not the admin's job to try and please the membership. It's his job to...
The only other truck I've seem messed up that bad is the one posted around here that looked as if it was dropped out of a airplane.
I can not believe everyone walked away from that. Bet you're going to be very sore in the morning. It bent the darn thing all the was to the front bumper. I...
I just went into my user CP and you can change your user title now if you are a premium member. Couldn't think of anything "cool" so I just left it as 4 star general.
You didn't get your gold star?
I know this is a stupid post but I'm posting BS post so I can get enough post to list a add in the old classifieds. Don't tell DH. ;-)
I'd been holding out on a donation because I was honestly starting to think the site was on a "death spiral".
Looks like it's time to pony up because it seems the site is coming to life again. Thanks Chris and the mystery man.
You can get the local Cat dealer to go out and give you a inspection (I've done it). It's not cheap but they give a very thorough inspection and if they say what condition it's in they are dead on. Well worth the money if you're thinking about sinking big bucks on a dozer.
Yea, The last time I was at Redstone there was a shipper that didn't understand how GL works. He showed up unannounced and Teresa was pissed. She finally went ahead and loaded him but told him that if he showed up again without an appointment he'd be leaving empty handed. She also called the...
You make a good point but I do know the check. I've been checked several times in my Dodge Cummins. I didn't give consent any of the times but I didn't try and object either. They more or less told me they were going to dip my tank and did. I don't know what would have happened if I said no.
